Cortisol Spiking Opiate Use

So a few weeks ago I had a panic attack. I stopped my meds for 2 days. I take 7.5 mg oxy 4 times a day. The 2 days were not great but not terrible. A few weeks back on my normal oxy dose I started having constant panic attacks. I've always been a person who wakes up tired and takes naps. Now I feel jittery constantly and wake up wired. My anxiety is sky high. My meds don't seem to help at all. I've tried reducing to 5 mg to see if that would help but it hasn't. Only thing that has helped is benzos. But I hate to switch one habit for another. Is this normal? Any advice? Is quitting my only option? Have I fucked up my body forever?

Only other thing was birth control. I quit that too just in case. And occasionally I took a supplement but I quit that 3 weeks ago. I'm still having symptoms on just low dose opiates. It's so strange. My standard bloodwork is normal. I think I'm going to try to see an endocrinologist because this is so weird.

lack of water or lack or sleep and different things other than opiates can effect cortisol levels if OP changed that up... sounds like they are noticing something directly related to dosing the opiates though.... be careful not to drink too much water, but if you've been having less water or sleep, maybe look into that.

I am more thirsty than usual. I drink only water and my blood work showed normal sodium and kidney function. If I take a benzo I can sleep, otherwise my body feels too jazzed up. And I always seem to wake up really early now feeling my body kick in a bunch of cortisol I assume because I get the worst anxiety first thing in the morning. Only time I felt normal was take benzo then 24 hours later I took a oxy and felt good. But my the next morning the anxiety is buzzing again. And then it seems once it's going oxy adds to the anxiety instead of helping it. It's so weird.
