Today i was perscribed corgard for anxiety. I've looked it up somewhat, and discovered it is a beta blocker. My doctor said to take it at night, and it should work for all of the next day, and help me sleep.

What i'm trying to figure out is if this is ANYTHIGN at all like xanax? Like if i take more it will give same effects as if you take more xanax

No, beta blockers aren't recreational. And take your drugs as they are prescribed; abusing them will only make your anxiety worse in the long run.

Are you just seeing a psychiatrist/doctor or are you speaking to a therapist as well?

If your anxiety has recently been getting worse, there is most likely something psychological causing it and you would benefit from speaking to someone regularly about it. Being medicated will be useless if you aren't working on the source of the problem.

It isn't recreational. But I do like beta-blockers as a non-addictive anxiety med; I am a musician, and I take 10mg of propanolol before I have to perform to reduce shakes and that sort of thing. In fact it's good for reducing tremors period. I use it quite a bit.
