contaminated weed

yeah so i got this new weed, new guy..and its potent and very good. but i think theres somethin on it, because i can light the weed and it burns by it self real quick.

if i smoke though, there is only white ash.

and if i crack it in my fingers it doesnt crumble.


so im thinking, could it be hairspray?

Weed- it contains hydrocarbons. That's why dank shit burns on it's own sometimes.
Also explains why it doesn't crumble- it's sticky/moist!



What have you been smoking? Crumbly shitty dry (read: improperly cured) weed?
 
hrm, I doubt the buds you are resinous enough to burn on their own if you're asking this question, and I have heard of many stories of weed that has (unfortunately) been adulterated by dealers looking to make more money. No marijuana I've smoked has turned to stark white ash, it's usually gray and darker. While I have no clue what could be adulterating your weed, or even if it is, it sure sounds possible, and therefore, I wouldn't smoke any more of it
 
My weed burns on it's own all the time. I don't get it from a dealer, I pick up from clinics.

Weed WILL burn on it's own, not to the degree that a nice ball of hash will, of course, but weed can catch aflame briefly.



Weed wouldn't burn to a LIGHTER ash if there were adulterants on it. Furthermore, the ash will get lighter and lighter with more heat . . .making any connections?
 
1. you're in southern california... he's not.
2. only very, very resinous fresh marijuana will burn on it's own. it's very rare to come across such a sample.
3. I don't suppose you're an expert on the plethora of possible adulterants and their chemistries, specifically their properties when heated?
4. sure, the connection I draw is, that from what the OP described, that something is not only marijuana, but he's smoking it anyway.
 
OP, sounds like its been sprayed with a synthetic cannabinoid.

does it look as though its crackling/sparking when its burning?
 
I don't think it'd be sprayed with a synthetic cannabinoid, we've got a thread in EADD called Contaminated Weed In The UK? but I'd assume you'd find some in Europe as well if its in the UK.

Usually its sprayed through the growing process and ends up being grit weed (try rubbing a finger on a bud and licking it, can you hear anything crunching in your teeth?) or it could be some of the stuff that's been coated in oil or something strange like that so it never dries out but that doesn't burn at all when smoked :|

I'd recommend you don't buy anymore from your source to make a point of not funding this sort of thing :(
 
I don't live in Socal and I can still say that some weed DOES burn on its own.
However, if you're sketched out by it at all, ditch it. No sense in smoking something you're not comfortable with.
 
OP, ive had ganja that had Jwh-073 or 018 sprayed on it. how do i know?

it was done in front of me, i asked to try it.
what you described is basically all the stuff that that batch of herb was like.

the very fast brun with the crackling/sparking is common with the synthetics.
also, if it was a very stupefied kind of stone, then it is all the more likely.


confront your dealer about it.
dont be shy, this is business. you are a CUSTOMER. he is a SUPPLIER.
you have money, he has a product. You need to be sure that the product you are spending your money on is
of good/safe quality.

so, confront/talk to/ask him about it
 
If you wet the ash and you can paint with it I mean literally paint with it. then its got some nasty shit in it that I would get rid of.

Or sell to some high school kids they got fresh lungs shouldnt be to horrible for them haha..
