So i was listening to Love Line on the radio in my car and they were talking about how 12 year olds fooling around is child on child molestation. I was like whaaaa? but makes sense.
 
No... it doesn't. Young teens fool around, experiment, etc. Two 12 years olds are not molesting each other (unless its non consenting). An 18 yr old with a 12 yr old = major issues. A 30yr old with a 15yr old = major issues.

Hence, we get these crazy court cases where a 13yr old girl is charged as a child-sex-offender and child-porn distributor. because she (being a child) took nude selfies of herself and sent them to a boy or two... who then re-send those same pics to their friends (because they are KIDS) in which 10 or so boys are now charged as transporting child-porn. having their lives RUINED.... their parents paying out the nose for legal fees.

There are grey areas. A 12 yr old with a 14yr old. I think a 15yr old has no business with a 12yr old. A 13yr old is pushing it. Maturity grows quickly at 15+ By all means, a 20 yr old person is still a KID!

I'm 45, my wife is 30. No question or issues from anyone. A 35 with a 20 yr old, a little bit on the kink side - nothing remotely illegal - and not even that much of a big deal.

But I'm all for throwing a guy in jail if she is 15 and he is 19+. An adult has no business with the underage. There are PLENTY of women of age 18+ that you can date and have sex with.

What if one person was 17 and the other one was 18?

I have never done anything like that as I had sex with people who were my age when we were both adults but I know people who had a girlfriend in highschool who was 17 and they were 18 or turned 18 and they were having sex.

I remember being 16 and going to Spain and having gay men publically flirt and cruise me in outdoor cafes and restauraunts at night and it freaked me out since I thought they were chickenhawks or ped0s but in Spain 16 it's legal for an adult to have sex with a 16 year old, and I did look over 18 at the time. Another time when I was 16 I was shopping for Christmas gifts at a local mall in the United States and this older adult guy near a bathroom asked me where the nearest gym was and started flirting with me, and basically propositioning me for sex or wanting to have sex in the mall bathroom. I got very nervous and said I had to leave and then went to visit a friend who worked in a nearby store.

When I was 17 I was hanging out with this old head guy I knew who was once my neighbor and who was in his 40s. 17~18... falls in realm of reason. Usually requires someone's parents to call the police and really force the issue. (ie: you are both 17, but one of you turned 18 six months before the other).

Gay or straight or bi, being hit on by a 40+ yr old when you are 15 is not quite pedophile, but is still under-age and you WERE A CHILD. Sorry, but being older gives you a mental advantage over 21yr olds and 18yr olds (under-age drinking) and so-forth. PS: When I was 13~14, I was hit-on by a few fellow boys students/friends. I did pretty much the same thing "no way". But as an older person, I wish I could have handled it better - and said "thanks, but no. But if we can still be friends - that'll be cool" - or something to that nature.

Female humans can and DO get pregnant as young as 5 (very very very very VERY rare) - there is way too many 10 year olds getting pregnant (one is too many). IMHO, nobody should be having children until they are 25+ years old, when the brain is finally matured and school is out of the way.

Boys and girls at age 12 or so (it varies when people start to masturbate) may want sex... but rarely with an adult. And boy or girl, those feelings can be preyed upon.
