I'm really curious as to all the different types of pot there is out there, and its different effects. I always hear people talking about blah or blah but I never really paid much attention, and I never know what I have. So, what's the diff?

Acctually, marijuana has many psycoactive chemicals in it other then THC. Brown shwag gives you a far different high then limegreen humbolt, wouldn't you agree.

They don't give the same high.... brown mexi schwag DEFINATELY gives a different high than chron... And it's a fact that the two types of weed (Sensi & i forgot the other) give two completely different highs (High Times)... One high is a sedated high while the other is a hyper high...

Ok I'm sorry for the incorrect info if I was wrong...but why there are different kinds?
Well, they taste different, the vary in strength. But anyway, I'm propably wrong about this one, so...oops!

In my opinion the best strains ive smoked have almost always been sativas so try to get a nice good sativa.
It will probably give you a nice active "mental" buzz while indica is more likely to give you a couch lock...

ok lemme break it down...
cannabis sativa:
has more of a sweet smell than skunky...the smoke is smooth not harsh and the high is more energetic and hyper rather than relaxing and chill...this is the kinda weed that makes you get up n dance or run around and act goofy...
cannabis indica:
smells skunky and the smoke is harsh...the high is relaxing and chill...makes u just wanna sit on a couch and just conversate with a pile of munchies near by and is likely to put you to sleep...
then you have varying THC contents among the various strains and hybrids...personally i don't care how i'm stoned...just as long as i am stoned...unless yer a grower...you can't really control what kinda weed yer gonna get and what the high is gonna be like so why worry about it...just light up whatever you got and be happy with it...

How can you tell the difference from sativa and indica by just looking, if it is possible. And does either type usually sell for a higher price?
 
Most strains are actually a combination of sativa and indica, and you probably won't find a "pure" strain of either. I prefer sativa dominant, but that's just me.

Want to tell the difference? Use your nose. Sativa-dominant marijuana smells "fruitier", even in the sack. Smell, smoke, compare. You'll get it eventually.

also sativa tends to be lighter in color than indica (sativa is usually a pale green while indica is a deep dark green sometimes even purplish) also the leaves of sativa are thin and slender while the leaves of indica are wide and fat...
