Ok, this is pretty simple.
We'll match opiates to benzos, as in (this opiate) is to (this benzo)..
It does sound confusing, but you'll understand it more when I do the comparison.

Here we go

Oxycodone is to Xanax/Alprazolam

This one is pretty simple IMO.
Oxycodone is the most popular Rx opiate , and is also the most abused, and and it has the biggest demand in the black market out of every Rx opiates.
Same with Xanax. It's the most popular benzo, the most abused, and also has the biggest demand in the black market in the class of benzos.

Methadone is to Klonopin/Clonazepam

This one is also simple IMO.
Methadone has a half life of up to 59 hours, it's used for withdrawal in the class of opiates, the sedation out powers the euphoria. Not saying it's not Euphoric, I love Methadone and I think it's a very euphoric opiate. It's just that Methadone is SO potent, as to why you feel more sedation than euphoria.
Same with Klonopin, it has a very similar half life, up to 50 hours compared to Methadone's 59 hours.
Klonopin is also used for withdrawal in the class of benzos, just like Methadone is used for opiate withdrawal. Klonopin 's sedation also out weighs the euphoria, same with Methadone.
Like I said about Methadone, just because the sedation out weighs the euphoria it doesn't mean it's not euphoric. I also love Klonopin.

Hydrocodone is to Ativan/Lorazepam

The same exact information as Oxycodone is to Xanax.
Hydrocodone is Oxycodone's younger brother.
Ativan is Xanax's younger brother.

Morphine is to Valium/Diazepam

I'm comparing these 2 because, these drugs are the drugs that are compared to each drug in it's respectably drug class.
They use Morphine as the nain opiate to compare with any and all opiates.
Same with Valium, they use Valium to compare with any and all benzos.

I know they're different drugs and all, but They're also the 2 most popular class of downer drugs.
I think my comparisons are very accurate.

How would you guys and girls compare the 2 classes?

Alpraz being the most abused isn't necessarily universal. In Japan, it's Nimetazepam, in Austria it used to be (up until a few years ago) Flunitrazepam, the UK used to deal with the widespread abuse of Temazepam... really, Xanax is kind of an "outlier" as a primarily anxiolytic benzo, whereas the others I listed are primarily sedative-hypnotic.

Anyway... I guess you could compare Fentanyl to Triazolam. Both are very short-acting and extremely hard-hitting.

Yeah id say oxycodone is more comparable to ativan then xanax. Only cuz Id compare dilaudid to xanax, when dilaudid is used in a decent ROA of course. But your klonopin to methadone comparison is pretty spot on. I'm actually on 4mg of klonopin right now, feels very nice anxiety free. Calm and slow

Oxy seems more like a diazepam/Etizolam mix to me, because it's sedating but you can still think clearly.

Morphine is definitely analagous to diazepam

Both are long lasting and the standard against which other drugs in the class are compared to. They aren't the strongest, yet they're proven and reliable.

Is it really so? I would have never thought, but I've never tried diazepam. With its tremendous half-life I'd imagine it to last way longer than morphine. Perhaps the opioid effect is more easily noticeable?
