A few hours after injection into a vein in my foot, I noticed pain in my calf (specifically along the superficial saphenous vein) along with bruising along the path of the vein. The bruising seems to have one more major point, around half way up the calf - way away from where I injected in my foot. Blood draw back was dark red, I doubt I hit an artery. Initially, I had pain in my calf upon standing, but now its only if I touch the area. Upon standing, I experience pain at the site of the injection in the foot, but nothing massively severe - I would expect pain after shooting into the foot anyway. I have no numbness, but the foot is colder than my other foot. It is also clearly colder than my calf. It isn't significantly swollen, there is no redness, but there are signs of poor circulation, which again, I expect (and deserve) after repeated injections into my feet over time. My Dr. surgery is only open for walk-in's before midday, and it doesn't feel worthy of A+E. I can go to the doctors tomorrow AM if it seems necessary, or I have an appointment on Tuesday if it seems stable/improving.
I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It doesn't match the symptoms of anything quite. My guess would be some sort of clot. Has anyone experiened anything similar? Any case studies?
Many thanks
