Opioids Codeine with Hydrocodone

I was prescribed first Hydrocodone for neck pain after a car accident. After complaining to my doctor about the Tylenol in it hurting my stomach, I was given Codeine Sulfate. Which my doctor assured me was stronger. I haven't taken my codeine yet but from what I read online it seems like its going to be weak. I was wondering if I could take about 300 mg of codeine sulfate and 30 mg of hydrocodone at the same time. I have taken both medications in the past, and am very familiar with Hydrocodone, however I have only take codeine once, when I had pneumonia.
 
The Codeine is a lot weaker compared to hydrocodone. It's about 6 times weaker to be honest. I wouldn't take 300mg of Codeine though, especially since you only took Codeine one time in your life. I would just take the hydrocodone and save the Codeine for a rainy day. Codeine isn't total shit but for me at least, it's like tramadol without the SNRI effects. If you're sick in detox, the codeine would be a God send. If you're looking for a little buzz, I wouldn't take any more than 30mg of it at first and work your way up from there. Give yourself at least an hour to see how you handle it. Some people love Codeine but in my opinion, the doctor gave you a much weaker opiate unfortunately. And he's not much of a doctor if he told you that Codeine is stronger than hydrocodone. There are ways to get the Tylenol out of your hydros if you search you can find out how to do it properly. Just be careful. Don't take 300mg for your 2nd time using Codeine, that's just crazy.
 
Honestly, I bet the doctor gave you the codeine because he thought you were drug seeking by saying the tylenol hurt your stomach. I have a friend who got labelled and cut off as a drug seeker because he wanted the Roxi 15's with no tylenol, so told his doctor the tylenol in the 10s hurt him. Doctor cut him off from all opiates.

I bet your doctor does indeed know that codeine is weaker, and thought you were drug seeking. Sucks man, the codeine isn't worth it. Like Poppyplanet said, save it for when the hydro runs out. And if you're opiate naive, or have low tolerance like you said, start off with low doses of codeine. I blew my tolerance out and ruined opiates so quick by taking as much oxy as I could handle at once. In retrospect I would have taken the minimum dosage needed to get high, and moved up slowly.
 
i just get tired of having to do CWE to take Hydrocodone. I guess I should have been more clear but I have a little bit of a tolerance to Opoids. I just took 240mg and I feel sorta buzzed. The first 30 minutes after I took it, I felt like somebody put on super gravity. I took benadryl but I'm still so itchy. Man idk about this stuff.
 
If he thought that I was a drug seeker I doubt that he would have given me a type of opiate that can easily be abused. I have proof though that Tylenol did some damage to my stomach. I informed the pain doctor that my primary doctor told me that I have cuts in my stomach and that they thought it was from taking too much Tylenol over the years for knee cramps. I am pretty familiar with opiates, but I still got a small buzz from 240 mg of codeine.
 
Taking them together is pretty nice ime. 20-30mg Hydrocodone and 90-120mg of Codeine is a nice combo. By itself Codeine is probably 1 of the weakest opiates and 1 of the most short lived highs iv experienced. Not very useful but not completely worthless id take a script of codeine still. Not over Hydrocodone 10s or even some 7.5s though. Hydrocodone is actually derived from Codeine.

Codeine is very short lived for as nice of a high that it is with a low tolerance........

My first dose was 50mgs of codeine & it was awesome but only lasted about an hour.......would be nice if it was legal. Can still get high off of 300mgs of codeine.

Like mentioned above, mixing them.is a nice combo if you are tolerant to both.......20mgs of hydrocodone with 100mgs of codeine should have you feeling nice.
 
Thank you all for your replies. I wanted to ask another related question. What would be the max amount of codeine I could take? I was also wondering if I took codeine at 10am this morning could I still take hydrocodone at 7:45 tonight?
