Stimulants Clonidine + dexamphetamine

I know beta blockers should never be used with amphetamines but what about alpha blockers, would this be useful on the comedown to reduce the CNS stimulation, slow heart rate etc?

I'm not game to try it until I know what the actual physiological reaction is as if it drops my blood pressure along with a high heart rate that could equal a really bad situation.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this? I did some googling and found a few things saying they are often prescribed together, is this the reason?

Also do amphetamines raise or drop your blood pressure?

Amphetamines raise your BP, clonidine was originally prescribed for hypertension but is rarely if ever prescribed as a bp med these days as there are a ton of new bp drugs used much more frequesntly, so each drug in this case would have opposing effects on your bp.

No idea why they'd be prescribed together since dexamphetamines would cause moderate to severe hypertension, but I'm not a Dr.

Clonidine is effective as a wd treatment for many people by itself, though. I've used it and it helps, but you have to monitor your bp while using it, make sure it doesn't get too low.

Yeah I had it left over from opiate wd a long time ago, seemed to do the trick, dropped my heart rate and killed a lot of the CNS stimulation letting me have a solid sleep after using dex.

I think they are prescribed together for this reason, so you get the effects of the dex but it removes some of the side effects.

Just out of curiosity what were your dosages?

um 100mg at 5pm + 50mg at 7pm + 50mg at 9pm

it is weird, I have zero tolerance to any stimulants what so ever and I got high, but not amazingly so, last 6 hours were just stimulation with no real euphoria, ended up writing some software cause I was bored when I got home.

Had 3 100ug clonidines during that time and 1 5mg nitrazapam, then about 3.30am had a 150mg lyrica and 1x5mg nitrazapam and another 100ug clonidine and it was lights out for about 8 hours even though my pupils were still dilated and I was not really tired. I have tested the waters with the lyrica, clonidine and nitraz so I knew it was not dangerous taking them all then, especially as I had 200mg dex under my belt.

Not bad fun but waste of money for the experience. Normally that much clonidine would make me see stars etc due to the blood pressure drop, I wouldn't ever have more than 150ug if you aren't stimulated.
