Hey bluelighters I'm a 20 year old kid with a job as a cook and I have been dependent on opiates for 4 years. The past two being IV heroin and oxymorphone. I'm currently using bupe IV (im aware of the risks) and have had a dependency on benzos for a little over a year one varying from 1 to 3 mg clonazepam that Ive had supplied by a friend with a 90 1mg prescription.
I'm trying to get off the damn benzos so I can hop on methadone and get off the needle for good. I've tried to come ween down over a month taking about .3 clonazepam for a week before I purchased another script and the rebound anxiety was rough but manageable. The main problem I had was my hands constantly shaking making my speed and efficiency as a cook very difficult causing issues during work.
I'm getting trained for management in a couple months and am trying to get off the clonazepam for various reasons financially, being able to be a methadone patient and not juggling two habits which is very difficult as it is.
I'm just seeking advice on a proper taper I need to get off them for good. I plan on staying on opiate maintenence which I will deal with later on as I get bupe off the street because I have no insurance and want to shake the needle which I know I can get methadone maintenence not to mention legally. I'm tired of being tracked up and juggling two habits.
Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm trying to improve my life and any advice at all would helP.
Thank you
