Benzos clarithromycin to potentiate clonazepam?

Dunno, does it??? I cant see how unless it interferes with metabolism. Can you further elaborate, as in a source from where you got this crazy idea?

I strongly advise against "abuse" of -mycin antibiotics as opioid potentiators. Not only do they destroy gut flora but improper dosing can lead to resistant bacteria.

^Yeah, good call, I definitely should have mentioned all that ...

Well i doubt the odd dose like, 500 mg just a few times then that's it, would be a big problem & he said clonazepam anyway where did opiates come from lol, i swear the o.d crowd has opiates on the brain. Actually i'd bet my life on it...

Using clarithromycin for a infection usually means you take a whole course of it. Not 2 doses. Maybe 28 doses.

Using single doses of antibiotics, or courses of antibiotics for infections it has no effect on (like viruses), promotes antibiotic resistance. There is also evidence it may kill off gut flora leading to intestinal problems.

is it physically safe to take a single potentiating dose? Yes. But is it a smart idea? Probably not.

I've used clarithromycin to potent fentanyl. It works, i'm sure. I was sick, and i had to take antibiotic. So i took clarithromycin, and it worked for 2 ways: As it was prescribed for my illness, and it potent the fantanyl, as it is a CYP3A4 inhibitor. I also took it some other times(but not much), just to potent my fentanyl. It worked, in 500-1000 mg doses, but i don't suggest anyone to do it, as NeighborhoodThreat said above there are others inhibitors of CYP3A4 that would do the job, without having the risk to lead to resistant bacteria. When i had to take it as prescribed, i remember i was nodding for days?)..And without the "illegal" thought that i was abusing smth..:)

What he said. Even just a few doses of an anti-biotic if not needed can be enough for you to build resistance to it. Worse than this, you could end up becoming resistant to the whole drug class (the -mycin antibiotics are very effective generally, and are chosen to fight a number of very nasty infections).

Its just not worth it to potentiate a high. Can't you take a slightly higher dose of the Benzodiazipine? (Although, I accept this could have its own issues).
