Chemists?

Any other Chemists on here?
Do you find that your interest in drugs is fuelled by your interest in chemistry? Or vice versa? Or are the two completely unrelated for you?

not exactly a chemist yet, but I started studying chemistry this semester. I got into it via the drugs (I guess many here can relate ^^), but after few months of studying, I learned that there are other very interesting things to it as well.

Do you study as well (or maybe already have a degree) or are you just interested?

I'm a chemistry undergrad. I've always been into the sciences - how things work and why they do what they do but learning that drugs were just molecules and that we knew their structures got me far more into chemistry than a titration ever did. The interests are fairly independent for me, but carbonyl/organic chemistry is definitely my area (averaging over 85% on exams)
