Hello,

I was wondering if any of you are aware of any studies, papers, or other resources involving fMRI data or similar imaging technology, or other concrete data related to the cognitive functionality of individuals who are *currently under the influence* of a mind altering substance at the time study data is collected. A search of Lexus and The fMRI data center left me empty-handed.

I'd presume that based on the legislative climate, such studies would be most likely found with opiates and stimulants -- and really, it's hallucinogen data that would be most interesting to me, personally -- but any relevant resources are greatly appreciated.

I think Vollenweider has done some of this in Switzerland.. with psilocybin and ketamine.

Vollenweider F.X. and Geyer M.A. (2001) A systems model of altered consciousness, Brain Research Bulletin, 56, 495-507

Vollenweider F.X. (2001) Brain mechanisms of hallucinogens and entactogens, Dialogues in Clinical Neuroscience, 3, 265-279

Looking at that his group have only done PET and LORETA stuff.

PubMed is the resource you want to use (www.pubmed.com). Vollenweider in Switzlerland has done imaging studies of MDMA, psilocybin, ketamine, and amphetamine.
