I just wanted to draw everyone's attention to the new Psychedelic Medicine sub-forum of PD. I'm excited about it because psychedelics are finally experiencing a renaissance, with psilocybin and MDMA in later-stage clinical trials for use as psychotherapy assistants, and research finally being allowed again and even enthusiastically pursued. There was actually a ton of research done before the mid-70s when psychedelics got deminized and illegalized, much of which was purposely buried. Most people don't know this, but there has been legally sanctioned research into psychedelics for the past 15 years at Johns Hopkins. This new research as well as the old research that is being rediscovered is painting a striking picture as to the potential benefits of psychedelics as tools for healing the mind, in the areas of addiction, PTSD, neuroses, end-of-life anxiety, and more.
