Hi There it's Lioney here

I am thinking about asking my GP (I'm in Australia) if I can change my dosage of 5mg oxycodone(1 every 6 hrs as needed) to 10 mg as I really don't find the 5mg works that well for my pain related to my horrendous migraines, considering I used to have to go have morphine shots and don't anymore as I am managing on pain relief in pill form, I had a stroke 5 yrs ago from a chiro manip which used to give me great relief from my headaches etc but cat't anymore so I do rely on meds now for my pain.

I have written about this in another post (the stroke), just wanted someones thoughts on this please on the meds side of things as I am tired of trying to manage my pain with this low dose. I want to know the best way to approach her, do I just ask? as she is really lovely and wants to help, but mentioned targin at one point, what's this like and is it any good?

thanks again guys

Lioney :)

Yeah just ask your GP to up your dose, be honest about it! Tell her 5mg isn't cutting it any longer. Doctors know patients build up tolerances over time to that medication and that eventually they'll need to increase their dose, however they try holding off on that as long as they can, but in your case, it sounds like it's time to up the dose, besides, 5mg is a relatively low dose to begin with!

yeah thanks for that, you def build up tolerances so I am going to ask her today!

Cheers

L :)
