So i was prescribed 10mg and up to 20 mg of celexa a few months ago which worked brilliantly. i stopped and decided to start up again. Last time i had good effects within less than a week and side effects disappeared. I know people say you have to wait a month for it to start working but it worked for me in 5 days. Now I am on it and it is not working as well with more side effects. I have been on it for 6 days. Im starting to feel better but am torn because my doctor offered me zoloft and I dunno if i should switch right away or give celexa a chance. While celexa worked amazingly last time, can zoloft work just as well if not better?

Welcome to BL, herewego.

I've been on Celexa (same doses as yours), then I switched over to Zoloft (50mg) because the Celexa never worked for me. All I received from Celexa were side-effects. Anyway, I really think anti-depressants efficacy is relative to each person. For me, Zoloft worked pretty decently for my depression and, to a lesser extent, my anxiety. I say give Zoloft a try and see how you feel after a few weeks. Zoloft didn't give me any qwerky side-effects like sleeping problems, diminished libido, or changes in my appetite.

oh and I never had any issues transitioning from 20mg Celexa to 50mg of Zoloft. Hope I helped a little.
