I'm curious as to what y'all think about this/similar anti-drug material. Obviously the video takes a simplified approach to explaining "drugs" as it's aimed at gradeschool-age children, but what is your opinion of its overall themes (i.e. that drug use can lead to emotional ups and downs, impaired ability to make moral decisions, loss of control/addiction, extreme consequences)? Are these messages appropriate for this age group or does the necessary simplification create an unfair/dangerous/harmful depiction of "drug use"? Perhaps such a complex topic is better handled in a more serious context at an older age?
Also, I found it interesting that this video doesn't focus on the fact that the drugs being discussed are illegal (minus the scene of Bugs Bunny as a jump-out boy lol), but concentrates on the negative emotional/moral consequences of "drug use". In general, would your opinion of anti-drug material change if "drug use" were legalized?
