can't stand the constipating effects of suboxone, so...

I am wondering two things.

What will happen if I just stop taking the sub. I was in detox for 12 days. The first eight I was on suboxone, starting at 8mg a day and slowing my 2mg. a day tapering. At this point I was in such craving mode they decided to put me on a suboxone maintenance when I left the facility on Monday.
Will I go into withdrawals right away.
I was also very constipated-not gone for almost 2 weeks. I am frustrated and desperate at this point to the point of stopping the suboxone as of today and going back on my opiate of choice-either percs or oxy's 10's for a few days to help my system get back to normal. At that time I would start a short taper at a much smaller dose-no more than 4 mg. a day.

I live in Ontario Canada, and there is no carry outs', so I have to do the complete 8mg at one time. I have to take it in front of the pharmacist, too, so there is no way I can break it

My advice would be to buy some laxatives.

Get a couple pills with Bisacodyl (Ducolax) in them. Those really get your digestive system going and create relief pretty quick, so be close to a bathroom after taking one. Take one of those twice a day for 2-3 days.

Also get another that has Polyethylene glycol (Miralax). It's basically the same material they use to make panty-hose. It can hold absurd amounts of water for it's weight. You mix it with water and drink it. Once it reaches your bowels, it sucks liquids into your intestines, making them expand (feel like you have to go), as well as making it easier for it to come out. Take the recommended dose of that daily until you get a normal cycle doing.

On top of this I would recommend drinking a lot of water (I aim for 64-90oz a day). This could include coffee (which also helps with constipation), but not so much soda. Stay away from too much starch as well as bananas. Try and eat green vegetables (kale, turnip greens, spinach) as well as apples and basically keep a balanced diet (including vitamins).

You don't have to quit taking the suboxone to fix your problem, but it does take effort on your part. You could also ask your pharmacist or doctor just to give you a smaller dose, I don't think he would have a problem doing that, but I don't really know how it works in Canada. I definitely know how you feel, I once went nearly a month without taking a stool, but after some guidance from a doctor I realized it's not a lost cause. Good luck!

Will you go into withdrawals from being on it for 12 days? No, you shouldn't. I have the worse constipation from Suboxone, nothing will work for it, I just have to unclog the toilet every time I'm able to actually go to the bathroom. Huge massive shits and then another couple weeks of not going.

It's all about proper diet. Lots of water, fresh fruits and vegetables, fiber, etc. Also some of the laxatives and stool softeners on the market do indeed help. Or, just skip your dose for a few days so you'll start withdrawing, then your bowels will empty, believe me.

Always worked for me.

Now that I've reduced lower than ~1mg, I find no longer require it like I did at 3-4mg/day.

I always found that I needed to take the Miralax two days in a row to get great, but not uncomfortable results.

For my suboxone induced constipation, laxatives actually put me in a lot of pain to the point of vomiting.

It just built up a ton of pressure, but my shit just didn't want to come out.

It was like Augustus Gloop getting stuck in the pipe in Willy Wonka. I yelled for a while as the pressure built up, and then the turd shot out like a bullet.

Absolutely nothing works. I don't know what to do about it either.

Holy shit Im glad Im not the only one. This is the only reason I absolutley hate subs. I go a week or 2 as well with nothing. I eat oatmeal high fiber every morning eat and drink tons of veges and even throw some powerful laxitives and nothing. It puts all full antagonists to shame when it comes to constipation imo.

Is the constipation from subs worse than other types of opiates? I've experienced constipation from every opiate I've ever taken on a regular basis. I've never used subs for more than a couple days just to get by until I could get more H, but when I started Methadone Maintenance, I didn't go to the bathroom for 10-12 days. I tried Bisacodyl (Ducolax) and Magnesium Citrate (Saline Laxitive) individually with no results besides cramping. To finally get my initial movement I had to combine Bisacodyl, a bottle of Magnesium Citrate(An entire bottle is one dose for the kind I had. I'd recommend lemon flavor as it's extremely salty.), and a Glycerin Suppository. The next day the suppository itself worked. After that I started to eat an Activia yogurt with fiber every night before bed along with adding additional fibers to my normal diet. This got me on a pretty normal every-other day movement schedule after about a week of sticking to this and didn't require any laxatives or suppositories.

just try and get as low a dose of sub you can get by with.
<2mg. .5 - 1mg and sensible amounts of natural laxitives. fruity lax was one that worked well for me.
Im on 3mg now and I have to take 4-6 ducolax/ day to shit once every 2 or 3 days...
not healthy but beats the alternative

heres what i would do:

URGENT Crap Required? Buy MAGNESIUM CITRATE in the bottom-shelf at your local Pharmacy / Grocery-Pharmacy Chain. Must be CITRATE as this is the more powerful (and... explosively harsh) form. Yes Milk of Magnesia may technically work too... however that is more mild (and in my male experience, not worth it). Magniesum Citrate bottle usually says to drink all 10oz (unless you are taking supplements, then lower accordingly) and drink a full 12oz of water with it. Down the nasty lemon or cherry metalic tasting drink (your choice of tastes! hell yeah bro!) and in 1-3 hrs you should be rumbling-tumbling. It is a rapid acting version of daily things like Miralax (which i also use, 1x @ night).
