Ok so I've been on opiates for over 10 years. I graduated to heroin a couple years ago. And it just got terrible. I've been to prison rehabs, all that. About 60 days ago I hit rock bottom. Went to a crisis center which started me on suboxone along with other meds because ive been diagnosed bipolar. When i was released I was given a script for suboxone. My uncles helped me pay for it. It really helped me out a lot. I also attended aa, got a sponsor and I'm working the steps. And because of all these components I've been sober now 60 days. Which is hard to believe. Especially because I was a chronic relapser. So I've run out of subs. I've been trying to get in with the center for health care services. They only have one suboxone low income program and they have been at there 600 person limit for few weeks now. I've been trying to call doctors but they all cost 200 bucks just for them to give script. I called sub manufacturer and they have a program that pays for the subs for a year. But you have to have a doctor. I was denied medacaid. I was told they no longer help disabled people. (My bipolar) That I needed medacare. So I applied for disability and I'm just waiting on that. I've been buying subs on the street. But I really don't have the money to do that. I'm looking for a job now. Should start working by next week.
So I guess my question is.....how can I find a doctor that will prescribe me subs. Or what should I do to get a script. By the way I supported my habit by selling drugs. I dont do that anymore. Trying to live right. But right now living right has left me o so broke.

Hello chefbyrg210,

More details about the amount of Suboxone you take a day would first help. It's your first post so you probably would of got a quicker response introducing your self in the introductions thread but it's ok, nobody is or will be perfect...I think many of us learnt that the hard way.

I'm EU based but have quite a bit of info about US Sub docs, their horrendous prices and of course the street route.

To be quick, since less is more; ask your uncles to help you a permanent Doctor, that would solve your issue with the sub manufacturers. While you work with your doctor, your Medacare paperwork should have come thru IF all your affairs are in place(paper work, test results, existing remarks from your crisis center etc). If need be during the periods of these transitions I guess your only options would be, follow the above God willing your family will still support you to become accepted into any type of mediX, or keep scoring if your family refuse so you can function and work as you mentioned (no one can work going thru Withdrawls but maybe you can...like I said;lack of info on your substance abuse (amount of dope you take/day,ROA etc)

PapaO out

I appreciate that papao. Sorry for not bringing all info necessary. I was taking 8 mg a day. And then bam...all gone. Thank God for the half life. So I'd buy an 8mg on the street and kept telling myself I would just do half but it wasn't enough I always do the whole thing. It doesn't get me high. But the fact that I don't think or crave heroin while I'm on it is a great high in itself. I finally found a clinic I'm enrolling in. It's not cheap but it's single dose pay. So I'm hoping I can manage it. I've been dting from the subs for 5 days. Within these 5 days I've slipped and did a line of brown. When the guy told me he didn't have subs. And then the next day I was of course still dting but didn't want to do brown so I got meth. I hate that crap. For the past 2 days I've been acting weird around my gf and our kids. I told her it was the wd from sub. I think I made it this time. I do not want to lose my family. If I'm caught using im kicked out immediately. Suboxone is a big part of my recovery. I'm in aa, got a sponsor and working steps praying as well. Hmmm just thought of something. I have meth in my system. Will they still give me my dose of suboxone. It's my first visit

Glad to hear things are leaning towards your favor...

However, considering your long term use of Opiates/Opiods you will have to stick to the program you got admitted too, their rules, their supply...right.

Let's rewind a bit, your still chipping here and there ; H, Meth etc. it sounds like your just trying to keep yourself of off withdrawal rather than the road to recovery, and a single dose pay program can always be risky due to lack of supervision, aa meetings sometimes turn into Ah Yeah meetings if it's not part of your program. What you should worry about more than getting caught is your overall health, and family. You said it yourself, they wouldn't give you another chance and given your in the system now as unalmalgamated as it seems, it's all you can afford so bravo!

Pls don't do meth, everyone knows a meth head from a mile away unless you meant Methadone? Once again, take time while posting bc we are all here to help each other and that can only be achieved with spending a solid15 mins while posting and reading & learning for the rest of us.

Like I said, I think your over complicating things. Follow these steps, or try -

Stick to your daily Buprenorphine dose, 4 mg in the morning and leaving 4 mg for the late afternoon evening makes your overall Bupe recovery more fun because you know by the end of the day you have your reward! Addiction is all about the reward/pleasure experience and imho splitting your dose does make a notably stronger punch rather than taking your 8mg in one go. Also, less is more with bupe and I'm not the only person on this forum that can concur to that. I've lasted on an 8mg pill off Subutex 4 days when I done too much before my refill and you said it 'thank god for that nice smooth 36 plus hour half life curve right'. However I don't want to open a new topic here bout the diff btw Suboxone and Subutex bc the forum is full of that, just UTSE (use the search engine) or just google it, there practically the same really in terms of Buprenorphine and the amount btw the two.

Is your AA/sponsor part of your single dose pay clinic and they test you positive for Meth, you will be given one warning as most reasonable clinics. As for the Brown you can say you took Solphadine for your headache which contains APAP(paracetamol), caffeine and 8mgs of codeine, or just use your imagination and they should give you a carte blancè at least once...I hope for your sake. Once again, lack of info about you saying 'if I get caught'....by who, your family or the the Suboxone program?

Info on Meth and how long it will stay in your system below -
The amount the user has consumed; the more one has consumed then the it's is likely to stay in the user's system.
How frequently/consistent use has been; methamphetamine will not leave the body's system if there is a continuous flow of intake, therefore the more frequent someone has been using then the longer it's likely to stay in the user's system.
The individual's metabolic rate; a metabolic rate refers to how fast the individual's body metabolizes everything that comes into the body. Such as food, drinks and drugs like crystal meth. The slower the individual's metabolic rate then the longer the meth will stay in the system. A person's weight, age and general health all contribute to their metabolic rate.
The individual's tolerance to methamphetamine: this refers to how frequent the user has ingested crystal meth and their general physical health at the time. Consistent drug users are normally found with higher tolerances.
The manner in which it is ingested: different ways of ingestion take different amounts of time for the body to process the methamphetamine. Snorting typically takes one to four days. Smoking crystal meth can take anywhere from three to five days to leave your system. When users use crystal meth intravenously, the drug will typically stay in their system for a minimum of 72 horus.

Another factor to be considered is in regards to drug testing. Crystal meth, as with other drugs stays for different amounts of time in different areas of the system that are normally tested. The four main forms of tests are:

1. Urine: normally stays for 3 to 5 days starting 2-5 hours after use
2. Blood: normally stays for 1 to 3 days starting (depends on form of ingestion) 2 hours
3. Saliva (swab test): normally stays for 1 to 4 days starting 10 minutes after use
4. Hair: normally stays 90 days on standard consumer hair test. Longer when lab test

Therefore when attempting to determine how long methamphetamine stays in your entire system (disregarding the specific testing areas); the main things to consider are your individual health and physiological factors, the amount and frequency of use and how the crystal meth was ingested.

Sooo, chefboyrg- stick to your Bupe program! Go to your meetings and don't let anyone tempt you for a cheeky line here or there as you won't feel it anyway with more than 5mg of Bupe in your system in the same day. It's your first visit, they will be considerate if you be honest, trust me I've been there and have the T-Shirts to prove it. They will not test for Meth but usually dope which one line won't last longer than 2 days max in your system unless you have the metabolism of a French Snail after sex!

Apologies I couldn't get back to you earlier bro, fill me in with your outcome please. Fellow members, feel free to chime in!

Best of luck and stay on Bupe and only Bupe. If You looking to potentiate your Bupe, then UTSE, I insufilate (sniff) my Bupe because of the higher bioavailability and the rush it gives me. This may encourage you more to stick to the program even though it's totally your choice what ROA you end up using.

Be safe, stay honest.

I'm feeling helpless:(

1. Why did you post this in the wiki section? What sort of wiki article were you planning to base on your post? :P
2. We don't really allow doctor-shopping questions.
3. It sounds like you'll have to either wait on Medicare or stomach the doctor's fees; welcome to America.
