First off I have read all threads relating to the subject and cant the the exact information im looking for.

I want to make some canna oil, I will probably using Olive oil and about 3.5 of good buds in a frying pan.

I know I want an extremely low heat, but exactly? Whats a good tempature that I should heat up the mixture to to allow the thc to extract.

I've heard anywhere from 30mins to 6 hours.

I own a crockpot, but since I am using sucha small ammount of oil(less than half a cup) i'd assume the crockpot would burn the mix.

Thanks

yo i think olive oil would be gross. And i heard something about the unsaturated fats in canola oil somehow allow for efficent extraction of thc. why do you plan on olive oil?

OK I eneded up using veg oil. About .5 of good bud and 1tsp of oil, and i cooked it for 30mins using the doublebroiler method. My water had small boils, and I saw not much change in color.

I ate the mixture and got no effects, was it becuase I didnt cook it long enough?

Could be multiple things... Not enough ganj, not the right kind of oil (i've heard olive oil works but can't verify), not enough oil, the oil didn't get hot enough, the herb wasn't ground up fine enough, or it wasn't cooked long enough.

never heard of anyone using veg oil so dunno if it would work

Canola oil tastes disgusting though, how would you consume it?

any oil should do. Just make sure the weed is ground up really really finely. I've never cooked for more than 15-20 min max... much longer and it'll probably burn... just keep it at a simmer for a few and at the first hint of browning take it off the heat and let it cool. Then use for brownies or what have you. If you're only using 3.5g i wouldn't even bother straining the weed out, especially if its of the funky variety
