Question 1.
Compared to tobacco, smoking cannabis poses very little health risk

1. True
2. False

Answer:
Looking for answers(s):2
Explanation: "Marijuana contains more tar than cigarettes. Marijuana is also inhaled very deeply and the smoke is held in the lungs for a long time. Marijuana is smoked all the way to the end where tar content is the highest. Many of the cancer-causing substances in tobacco are also found in marijuana. Because marijuana is an illegal substance, it is not possible to control whether it contains fungi, pesticides, and other additives. Medical reports suggest marijuana may cause cancers of the mouth and throat. It has been hard to prove a connection between marijuana and lung cancer, because it is not easy to gather information about the use of illegal drugs. Also, many marijuana smokers also smoke cigarettes. This makes it difficult to know how much of the risk is from tobacco and how much is from marijuana." Additionally, many users smoke tobacco and cannabis together in "blunts" or by "spinning" or mixing with cigarette tobacco, making it even harder to determine the effects of cannabis alone. "Studies have shown that marijuana smokers have a nearly five-fold increased risk of having a heart attack during the first hour after smoking." Heart attacks are more likely in older users and those with pre-existing heart conditions.

Question 2.
Compared to Alcohol, eaten cannabis poses very little health risk

1. True
2. False
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):1
Explanation: There is no known link between eaten cannabis and cancer. Immune system response may be reduced but studies are conflicting. Chances are likely the heart attack risk is still present. It is difficult to determine the exact health risk, but it is likey cannabis poses less of a risk than alcohol.

Question 3.
Cannabis is not addictive at all

1. True
2. False
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):2
Explanation: Cannabis can produce a mostly psychological addiction, though there are definite physical symptoms of withdrawl. Tolerance to THC does occur. Chronic cannabis smokers may experience withdrawl symptoms such as increases in irritability, anxiety, sweating and physical tension, as well as decreases in appetite and mood. Heavy night sweats and vivid dreams are also common withdrawl symptoms. Tolerance and withdrawl are classic indicators of addiction.

Question 4.
You can overdose and die from using Cannabis one time

1. True
2. False
Answer:

Question 5.

1. True
2. False
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):1

1. 5 - 30 minutes
2. 1 - 4 hours
3. 4 to 8 hours
4. 8 to 16 hours
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):2
Explanation: The length of the high depends on how much cannabis is smoked and the tolerance of the smoker, but generally the high will last between 1 to 4 hours. The high peaks usually within 15 minutes of smoking, lasts an 1 hour or so and begins to trail off.

Question 8.
The high from eaten cannabis generally lasts:

1. 5 - 30 minutes
2. 1 - 4 hours
3. 4 to 8 hours
4. 8 to 16 hours
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):3
Explanation: The length of the high depends on how much cannabis is eaten and the tolerance of the user, but generally the high will last 4 to 8 hours. Depending on stomach contents, the high can take up to an hour to begin, and builds over the next 30mins - 1 hour. The peak will last a couple of hours and trail off much slower than if the cannabis has been smoked. If eaten soon before to going to sleep, the effects may be felt the next day. When eaten, the high manifests itself differently than if the cannabis had been smoked; users describe the experience as having more of a "body high". Some users not used to the high may not realize they are high, similar to when users have a hard time "getting stoned" the first few times they smoke. Generally, 2 to 4 times as much cannabis must be eaten to feel the same peak experience, though the peak will last much longer when the cannabis is eaten.

3. Devices for smoking marijuana in which the smoke is drawn through water before inhaling
4. Cannabis cigarettes laced with another illict substance
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):1

Question 14.
When a user "spins" his or her cannabis, he or she is:

1. rolling a joint
2. using a centrifuge device to make hash
3. mixing the cannabis with another dried plant substance
4. mixing the cannabis with another illicit substance
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):3
Explanation: Many users, especially outside of north america, mix cannabis with dried plant material. Tobacco is the most common substance spun with cannabis. Users mix other materials with cannabis so that they can use less cannabis per inhalation. Though mixing cannabis with tobacco also provides the psychoactive effects of nicotine, the effects of the cannabis is reduced because less is consumed. Spinning cannabis results in an increased health risk, especially if tobacco is used.

1. never
2. very rarely
3. somewhat often
4. all the time
Answer:

Question 20.
CBD is short for:

1. Cannabidioid
2. Cannabidiol
3. Cannabidate

1. Sedation
2. Paranoia
3. Red Eyes
4. Hunger

Question 24.
Found on cannabis flowers are small crystals known as trichomes. Trichomes are made of:

1. Pure THC
2. The essential oils of the cannabis plant, including THC, CBN, CBD

Though the majority of the cannabinoids in the ripe flowers are found in the trichomes, the abundance of trichomes does not always reflect the potency of the flowers. Hemp grown for fiber will have resin coated flowers, yet will only produce a headache when smoked. Conversely, some sativa strains are almost devoid of trichomes and have the abililty to cause open eye visuals.

Cannabis must be heated to produce the most possible active THC

1. True
2. False
Answer:
Looking for answers(s):1
Explanation: The cannabis plant produces an acid form of THC, known as THCA, which is not very psychoactive. It has an extra -COOH attatched to the THC molecule. Heating cannabis will cause this COOH group to be released. This is why one must smoke or cook cannabis before consuming to get the best results. This process also occurs during curing, only at a slower rate.

Question 27.
Heating cannabis causes a process known as:

1. deoxycarbolation

Eight weeks after the quiz originally went live, the following statistics were posted:
Eight weeks have passed and over 1000 people have taken the Cannabis Quiz. It was a 30 question multiple choice test written by frizzantik (Cannabis Discussion moderator). The average score was 20/30 or 67%. To get even more specific: ~20% people scored over 80%, ~60% scored between 60-80% and ~20% people scored between 40-60%. So if you took the test, you now have a basic idea of how you scored compared to others

The most frequent complaint was the inclusion of regional slang such as 'blunts' and 'spinning' in the quiz.
