Cannabis for insomnia study.

my personal experience with this , being a cannabis user for over 10 years now on and off, and suffering with with chronic insomnia the last 20 years , affecting 5/7 nights sleep on average or nearly every night,

I dont find CBD alone enough to help me sleep. The best combo ive used for sleep aid from cannabis was was THC, CBD and CBN as a combo it helped me to fall asleep but i wouldnt say its a magic bullet of a sleeper or anything like that, but it did also improve the quality of sleep i had

i didn't really catch what makes this cbd pill different than anything else that is available all over the place.

they sell cbn/thc pills at my dispensary.. my mother tried some cbd and said it didn't work.. i'd like to get her some cbn ones to try with out the thc cause she doesn't like drug effects like thc or adderall her doctor gave her cause she was tired... she takes ativan and drinks wine all the time though.. would like to gift her some cbn if i ever come across any. i think she switches up the ativan and drinking every couple nights for the past bunch of years. she got excited to try thc gummies, but said just one 5mg felt kind of weird and wasn't her thing.

I've not taken THC for a few weeks now bc on glp,and glp1, zepbound, and it could cause zepbound to not work or have a low, medium or high certain percent less effective

I've turned to cbd cannabis which helps with sativa pre workout. Also in last week's of bodybuilding contest preparation competition, and two hours cardio, sometimes an hour, low calorie, sleep and mind has been altered. No recreational drugs except stimulates

When got to 20 mgs ephedrine first thing waking up, could not sleep, could be alpha yohimbine, moi, just dropped, but going back to 10 mgs ephedrine and low dose stims, rotate them. Be careful combining herbal supplements like Mucuna pruriens,,high ecgc, l tyrosine can all cause thyroid hormones to go hyper which is hot, fast heart, over stimulated and sleepiness

Taking off today everything except t3 and some health supplements ,milk thistle, nac. Proteins and vegetables

...what makes this CBD pill different...

Some 2 weeks ago it was made aware that Australia's regulators became quite restrictive about cannabis and health-wise consumption method alternatives as vapes, presumably also vaporizers and water pipes, i.e. just as UN's FCTC/COP6 Moscow event have suggested in mid-December 2014. Actually the situation is going to get even worse during the 1st half of 2025...

Avecho's « Tocopheryl Phosphate Mixture » or TPM® delivery technology targets the australian, european and USA markets with a type of "encapsulation" based on an enhanced form of Vitamin E (...); their documentation mentions a « phosphagenics » mediator as small as 5~12 microns, intended to entrap the CBD inside so to increase solubility, stability and bioavailability, hence subsequent absorption.

...my mother tried some CBD and said it didn't work... ... ...she got excited to try THC gummies, but said just one 5mg felt kind of weird and wasn't her thing.

According to Avecho those soft-gel blue-turquoise oral cannabidiol "CBD 75" capsules contain no THC and yet are supposed to be fast-acting, effective and avoid exposure to next day impairment. If it works as predicted this might prove a much better solution than drugs with potentially severe adverse effects driving people crazy (like chronic headaches, tinnitus and so on).

I dont find CBD alone enough to help me sleep.

My opinion as well. Generally i don't value oral strips at all but i must admit in 1 single instance i've got no choice but to experience a powerful couch-lock, because the slow-acting/low-dosing crap (with THC) which we are sold cause me to use more than required and then this kicked all at once, eventually. My main regret was that i just couldn't enjoy the trip going irresistibly asleep (i was probably too tired already, so much for a "magic bullet")!

Anyway the gel caps are now in Phase III clinical trial and the public announce goes back to March. Details on this ~16 weeks insomnia study can be found on a partner's web site (*) while there's some "Fact Sheet" right there:

In addition, for those who don't wish to wait for CBD capsules and/or prefer inhalation, lets remind our australian friends that their country banned imports and now require sales to go through "Official Pharmacy Stockists" after obtaining a Medical Prescription intended for « therapeutic use » ONLY, more specifically Smoking Cessation of addictive habit-forming Nicotine (e.g. for "dependency management")... In other words the politi¢ian$ like it « $i¢k 'n $ad » before it's over-billed/over-taxed, which gives me a definite impression of déjà-vu!

I wanted to share my experience I had recently.

I had been for few weeks after quitting several drugs almost simultaneously that are known to cause WDS, been suffering of very weak ride performance, even those days I felt like I was not precisely fatigued. The doses I was on previously were not that great, but were causing general minor dysfunction, poor sleep, etc. I couldn't keep pace I considered good.

Then I slept two nights fucking good on weed and suddenly I BLASTED through the roads. My hypothesis is that even if THC tends to disrupt deep sleep and REM, if you are having several conditions to handle, like I always do, the sleep can anyway be much more restorative baked, because being baked treats pains, agitation and anxiety. This effect seemed to last pretty well. Also it felt like as I had to take no antihistamines when I baked, I was not under the famous antihistamine slugginess the next day.

My other hypothesis is that it can be beneficial to sometimes sleep sober to experience the dreams better. It is definitely important for psychology. But I have not much to support this hypothesis, it just feels intuitively right. Maybe I could say I have just observed cycling to work well. Something like 2-3 evenings high and 2-3 evenings off. Or every other baked, every other evening more "sober".

I checked Québec's MONOPOLY web site (SQdC) just a minute ago and found ZERO product for « CBN » as a result... The Blo¢ Pot political party of which the editorialist keeps citing Canada as an example making consumers of the world envious simply forgets one basic rule of true legalization: the freedom to choose... That's what happens with monopolies, especially this one being a "filiale" of the SAQ serving our monopoly alcohol indu$try. Even milk is regulated by a monopoly around here, to be honest, euh...

Well, these days just eating a sandwich will render me irresistibly drowsy and send me to the bed if i don't want to sleep in a chair anyway. Yet i'd like to put many things to the test if we were just allowed, while all of my former "contacts" disapeared because of the harsh new laws like civil asset forfeiture imported from USA. All we get is 3 types of over-billed/over-taxed (punitive) product: THC-centric which "fidelizes" vulnerable consumers the same as when "organized crime" targeted them, so-called "balanced" 1:1 THC:CBD which is actually a deny of the buzz resulting from 'Norml' style medicalization, then Full-CBD the extremist form of denial when THC ain't supposed to have any benefits at all. There's mention of a few entourage effect molecules on random but this is a supplier who's calling "concentrate" some ripoff made of 70 % something else. Meanwhile the INSPQ seems satisfied of its "performance" on a global scale as they issued a YouTube video last week, in preparation for Halloween - a ritual that goes on every year with complicity from our TV stations showing "marihuana" nuggets as they keep talking about deaths (from opioïds). So, maybe in some unpredictable future (or alternate reality) there will be CBN to evaluate but you can bet this will come with a ton of non-disclosure contaminants, assorted with an interdiction to home-grow our own BIO. Which leaves the sandwich option, but there again we can be called chemo-phobics by Health-Canada when asking about $anitary additive$, not to mention the increasing presence of "eternal" molecules the human body can't eliminate (hence accumulate) as PFAS in water!

Good day, have fun! ...or "Bon Appetit"!! ☮️

Abstract

Study Objectives:

Low-dose cannabidiol (CBD) has become readily available in numerous countries; however, little consensus exists on its efficacy as a sleep aid. This trial explored the efficacy of 150 mg of CBD (n = 15) compared with placebo (n = 15) as a sleep aid in primary insomnia. CBD supplementation was hypothesized to decrease insomnia symptoms and improve aspects of psychological health, relative to placebo.

Methods:

Using a randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel design featuring a single-blind placebo run-in week followed by a 2-week double-blind randomized dosing phase, participants consumed the assigned treatment sublingually 60 minutes before bed nightly. Wrist-actigraphy and sleep diaries measured daily sleep. Sleep quality, sleep effort, and well-being were measured weekly over 4 in-laboratory visits. Insomnia severity and trait anxiety were measured at screening and study conclusion.

Results:

Insomnia severity, self-reported sleep-onset latency, sleep efficiency, and wake after sleep onset did not differ between treatments throughout the trial (all P > .05). Compared with placebo, the CBD group reported greater well-being scores throughout the trial (trial end mean difference = 2.60; standard error: 1.20), transient elevated behavior following wakefulness scores after 1 week of treatment (mean difference = 3.93; standard error: 1.53), and had superior objective sleep efficiency after 2 weeks of treatment (mean difference = 6.85; standard error: 2.95) (all P < .05). No other significant treatment effects were observed.

Conclusions:

Nightly supplementation of 150 mg CBD was similar to placebo regarding most sleep outcomes while sustaining greater well-being, suggesting more prominent psychological effects. Additional controlled trials examining varying treatment periods and doses are crucial.

Les aliments contenant du CBD ont-ils de réels bienfaits? – L'épicerie @ 2:18 (2021-Oct-21)

Do edibles have real effects? Some 3 years ago we heard some vague medical opinions about CBD having no effect in "legal" dose. That's one major problem with our quebeker SQdC treating THC and CBD much the same, as if one could expect equal posologies applying to different molecules no matter what's the target application... In short, cannabis is cannabis is cannabis and hence it's over-billed/over-taxed in a similar fashion if not worse! Actually they push this insanity up to the point of calling it "concentrate" even at 30 % (MAX), so the denial includes placebo indeed and i ain't too surprized about it knowing that comes from absolute abstainance addictionnists who's $¢ien¢e is rooted into the CSAM-SMCA (e.g. bigot prohibitionists).

Dana Larsen in Vancouver once reacted to these ridicule dose limits in the following terms:

Guidelines for Canada's cannabis edibles tight, but also vague (2019-Jun-18)
« ...no one wants to put 50 things up their butt... »

He was talking about cancer patients and their demanding situation possibly including 500 mg in suppositories per day, which was about THC, so now imagine with CBD!! Let alone CBN...

Thing is ive dosed high with CBD oil many years back and i didnt smoke any weed with it, no pharms, no drink nothing and it did actually help me to fall asleep i felt like i was passing out sometimes lol

After smoking Weed from 17, it never made me sleep.
We stayed up on it till dawn, playin 6 to 8 hour board games.

CBD doesn t do any thing regarding sleep ime,
better get both THC/ CBD Weed. Might it help.
Only Cannabinoid that felt sedating HHC + HHC-p.
And the real knockouts, the full agonist Synthoids.
Which you should stay clear off, i would now.

Not weed, its neutral in me, wont keep me from having energy.
Or from having sleep. Has no influence on it imo.
