This all takes place from 12:00 noon on this past saturday. I had just received a new shipment of high-end marijuana, my best friend and I had no prior engagements for the day, so we decided to set up shop down by the river and stay there all day.
T+ 0 Minutes My friend, Mike, and I sit cross-legged facing eachother with the river to our right. I pack a nickel into the hitter of my new bong and let Mike take the greens, being the nice guy that I am
. He gets the chamber filled up pretty well and releases the thumb carb, taking in a whole lot of smoke. He then passes it over to me, I fill the chamber up and release the thumb, taking in a lot as well. We both take 1 more hit purely, no thumb carb. We have that nickel burnt out, so I empty the ashes out of the hitter and toss them into the river.
T+ 15 Minutes We are both just sitting back, taking in all the beauty that this earth has to offer. I was starting some mild visuals, as was Mike. After peeling the bark off a small twig I get my partner's attention and we repeat the activities with the other half of the dime bag.
T+ 30 Minutes Mike brought his portable CD player with him and his small speaker, so he puts on Dark Side of The Moon and we both immediately see the whole world pulsing with the beat of the music. I decide to light up a cigar and occupy myself with that for awhile. The cigar tastes sweeter than ever, I can feel the smoke enter and leave my body, each time increasing in ecstasy.
T+ 1 Hour I take the past puff of my cigar and get Mike's attention as I throw it into the river. We are both amazed at how the butt seemed to float in mid-air forever before it made a splash in the water. We start picking up small pebbles and throwing them overboard, oohing and aahing at each tiny ripple. I could see the ripples extend from the water's surface to all I could see, it was all rippling.
T+ 1 Hour 15 Minutes Mike is laying on his back staring at the sky and waving his arms with Pink Floyd. I tell him I have to pee and I leave for a little nature hike. As I was walking along the thin trail through the woods the trail seemed to wave back and forth, making it incredibly hard to walk straight. Sometimes as I walked along I would look up to the sky and be able to see every individual sunbeam break through the leaves. I finally realize that I have been walking for about 5 minutes, and I do what I went out to do and start walking back.
T+ 1 1/2 Hours When I return to our 'camp site' Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" is playing, which really confused me seeing how I couldn't conceive that Mike could have changed the CD. When "Crosstown Traffic" (for those who aren't familliar with the song, it's a fast-paced song with alot of highly distorted guitar parts) comes on, we both immediately spring to our feet and start dancing with the music, just having a ball.
The trails along the river spread for about 2 miles total along the riverbank. Most of it is heavily wooded, but some is open feilds.
T+ 2 Hours We decide to pack up our supplies and go for a long walk down the trails. We leave Electric Ladyland playing in my backpack, which was really neat. We walk along for probably 45 minutes, having the deepest talks about the beauty of nature and the different things that we have been put on this earth to do. We both agree that we are far too young to be figuring out the meaning of our lives (age 15), yet we keep talking about it. We contemplate what others lives must be like, alot of scientists, mathemiticians, and some famous musicians.
T+ 3 Hours We enter an area of the trails called the 'mud-flats', where alot of BMX bike riding and paintballing goes on. We don't see any signs of any activities going on, so we feel we're free to enter. We get probably 20 yards into the main area, and we hear round after round of paintball guns going off. We run like the wind, like if there was a bomb about to go off, we are just trucking as fast as we can. We get out of the mudflats and we both just collapse on the ground in complete hysterics. We laugh harder that I could ever imagine for about 5 minutes straight.
T+ 3 1/2 Hours We end up at the top of my street, where we split up and go our separate ways. I return home and go directly to my bedroom, where I put Monkey Radio on and just lay in my bed, staring out the window reflecting on what a great day I have had.
Thanks for reading, I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoy living it. Later.
