Hello Cannabis Discussion:

Due to the impending retirement of MDAO, we need a new moderator to take his place!

Some will remember that a few months ago we had an application round that led nowhere due to many changes in the staff. I want to apologize for it. But this time it's the real thing.

This is a great way to become involved at a different level in one of the most diverse and vibrant communities on the whole interweb. We are looking for:

  1. Someone who actively promotes discussion here in CD and elsewhere on Bluelight
  2. Someone with a good attitude and sense of humor
  3. Someone who is willing to take on the responsibility of "POT OR NOT"
  4. Someone knowledgeable about cannabis, whether you're a grower or a connoisseur
  5. Someone who will implement innovative projects to make CD a better place
  6. Someone who can make an investment of personal time (huge amounts aren't required, but you should be around more often than not and have reliable access to the Internet)

What we would like to know about you:

  • Basic biographical data - nothing invasive, but first name, age, occupation, education
  • What improvements you would make to Cannabis Discussion as a whole
  • What you think is right about CD
  • What you think is wrong about CD
  • If you have any experience moderating Internet forums
  • Anything else you think would help the mods and senior staff in making their decision

Optional bonus question: What is your favorite strain of cannabis you've smoked, and what did you like best about it?

wish i could apply, but i'm unqualified. only been here a month, only smoked twice, and only smoked one kind of pot.

oh well maybe sometime in the future.
 
i would but i don't have time for it either. lots of school and all that shit.

i'll definitely apply for some moderation post in the future once i'm a bit more experienced and well known (and when i don't have so much on my plate).

i love this site

hah thanks! i will definitely keep up. i've become BL addicted as of late. over 100 posts every day for the last few weeks. i have an extremely non addictive personality. it's not that i don't get addicted to things, it's just that i don't get addicted to anything i don't want to get addicted to.

i want to post on bluelight though so that's, i suppose you could say, an addiction i want.

i don't ever want to be addicted to any drug, and i can tell when i'm doing something too much, so i don't really worry too much about getting hooked.
 
yeh, i wouldnt wanna go there again 8) :D

really though, CD is probably one of the best potential forums to mod because of how much opportunity there is to grow the community. there are a lot of other cannabis forums on the net and it's almost out of place to have yet another one on bluelight, so there is good opportunity for an ambitious young shit to grab the reigns of this modship and do something big. after all, pot or not was just an idea at the back of somebody's head until the ball got rolling and now it's a pleasant addition to the forum

I'm sorry to have to tell you this way but, if you can't follow the required procedure explained in the first post of that thread, what makes you think you would be a good mod? :|

is that a mod problem?
 
I doubt I'd have a chance, since I just joined at all but I would consider myself a cannabis connoisseur, both in the smoking and growing areas. :) If you think I'd have a shot, even though I'm a total n00b, I'll send ya an application.

Well being an active user is a big +, but you don't have to be a posting machine to be a mod.

Being pretty busy with school right now myself I haven't been really posting in CD as much as I have in the past, but I can usually still get my day to day mod duties done by lurking (closing, moving, megering, ect).

I won't lie and say its normal for someone with so few posts to become a mod, but every application is read and considered equally.

Submitting an application now can also help give us some information about yourself for the next time we have an opening should you not get the job this time around ;)
