So I got a quick question. I have a seasonal asthma but also get some symptoms of it when I'm smoking in my room for hours without opening anything. So last time I got high I grabbed my asthma inhalator because I was about to fall asleep and the room was really full of smoke and I didn't wanna wake up the next day being barely able to breath (had that). So I took a last bong hit and then used my asthma inhalator. Then I got up to go to the bath and soudenly there was this loud-ass pounding noice "in my head". I immidiately thought about my experiences with fainting (wasn't able to see blood when I was younger, fainted alot) and got to bed quickly where I found that my heart was beating really really fast. I then calmed myself down that I read that Albuterol causes tachykardia and weed can too and that albuterol only lasts 30 mins max etc.

So now is the question: Interaction Albuterol / THC possible ?

greetings Xayo

too much cannabis=heart pounding... I'm no chemist and I dont have asthma but I know weed causes elavated heart rate like you said. The active stuff in weed doesnt react with anything common to my knowledge tho, everytime I got to the doctor they ask if im on medication that could interact with anything they give me and I tell them I smoke weed a lot and they always say no problem.

my asthma inhaler (albuterol) gives me heart palpitations if i take too many puffs. so does cannabis. i don't think anything out of the ordinary happened. i would try and space the albuterol away from smoke inhalation though. i tried taking a couple bong rips after hitting my inhaler a couple times and it gave me some weird, sharp chest pains for the next 10 minutes. i think it has something to do with your lungs dialating then letting that irritating smoke hit the weak part of your lungs.

Cannabis is a bronchodialator and causes increased heart rate. Albuterol acts directly on adrenergic receptors (the ones adrenaline bind to) increasing heart rate and causing bronchodilation.

I'd imagine, therefore, it'd be possible you had a drug interaction...

I have asthma and this happens to me too on weed + albuterol, or hell just weed sometimes. My regular inhaler is usually okay, but a full breathing treatment raises my heartrate above 130.

come to think ive actually used those inhalers youre talking about with weed to open my lungs up so I could absorb the smoke better and take bigger hits. I dont have asthma i was using a buddy of mines after I read the label and had the idea. Im not really sure if it works but kinda I felt more stoned...

edit: and thats not a drug interaction when two substances that have the same effect work at the same time. If the two together created an exponentially stronger reaction in someone then the two drugs would be interacting but I dont think thats whats happening here

Yes tachycardia is a side effect of both drugs on their own so in combination it should be even worse.
