How do you guys feel about smoking cannabis for religious purposes. I think its great! I am a follower of the Christian religion, and whenever i smoke cannabis, i always feel like praising the lord!I enjoy getting high off of cannabis and i also enjoy strengthening my faith through the use of it. I was wondering if anyone else uses cannabis for religious purposes.

Not really but if anyone ever gives me shit for tokin up I tell them about what it was like growing up with two hippy rastafarians who forced their religion on me as a child and it kinda stuck with me.

Weed is part of rastafarianism..right? haha

Hey, whever floats his boat man. I like to meditate/clear my mind/practice one pointedness while high. Thas is not part of any religion though.

Atheisme is also a religion.
That is probably one of the most stupid things I have ever heard. Atheisme isn't even a word.

ATHEISM IS NOT A RELIGION OR A FAITH!

Atheism, by definition, is the absence of theism. If you cannot say "I believe in a Deity/God/Supreme Being" then you are an atheist. If you are not a theist, then you are an atheist.

kthx.

I assume Sprinkervibes meant that the positive belief that there definitely is no God is as much a leap of faith as the positive belief that there definitely is one (or more). If atheism is instead interpreted as a negative belief that the accounts of spirituality given by organised religions are false, it is clearly distinct from religion. The problem is, people conflate theism with the idea of faith. Theism/religion is not merely the belief in things that cannot be proven (strictly speaking, everyone must either believe in things that cannot be proven or accept an agnostic view of not-knowing); it is the belief in one or more dieties. I consider myself an atheist, and I have an irrational faith that rests at the centre of my ontological understanding. The difference is, that faith is in the existence and essence of the self, not of a higher power.

everyone needs to stop fuking saying whatever floats your boat.

No. Everyone needs to go back and actually answer the damn question without getting all philosophical on everyone else's ass. Except brian.

you're obviously joking. if not, then your choice is binary: accept that you're going to hell, or say 'fuck that noise' and accept that there is no hell. it's really hard to imagine how you can subscribe to a faith of discipline by taking a mind-expanding drug that would force you to probe the inconsistencies in the Christian faith rather than overlook them and love a god you aren't even sure exists.

Atheism is really just as close-minded as any religion IMO
"There is always the possibility that god exists" - right? most athiests are agnostics and claim to be atheist simply because all popularized religions are a joke. I am agnostic in the sense that I do believe a supreme creator is possible, however unlikely but if anyone asked I would simply say I was atheist.

Atheism is in no way, shape, or form as close-minded as religions such as Catholicism, or Scientology (which I both rank on the same level of idiocy)

any thread regarding religion on any forum anywhere always turns into a big argument between believers and non-believers. seriously, speaking against someone's religion or beliefs on a message board does nothing but get people pissed off. go ahead and voice your opinion but don't put someone down at the same time. just let people believe what they want to and we can find a common ground in our love for the herb.

Welcome to the internet, you new?

For some odd reason I feel a connection to Islam when I'm high. I listen to the Quran recited and such, I find it extremely comforting and beautiful. Then again, I do that when I'm sober as well.

i dont believe in following religious rules that are man made. Personally, i believe that faith is more important than religion. Some people say that smoking is a sin in my religion, and i dont believe in that. I believe that the only thing that is important is faith in Jesus Christ.

seriously... i think that theres alot of sin going on but its not from the smoking its just the social situations and shit because its illigal. if someone were to actualy follow christianity and not whatever it is today then tokin is fine. like i find that weed opens you up to alot of options and sometimes its easy to follow when your just bakedd.. so i totaly know what you mean. its just like alrite im just going to get all this paranoia off my chest and get rid of all my problems by just facing them and telling the TRUTH and fixing all of the wrongs u created... smoking isnt one of them, lieing about it is. it depends sometimes though, but it defnatly alows me to focus on the spiritual world more

right on brotha. i agree with you completely. That is exactly how i feel. Good comment!

WHen i wrote that i feel the need to praise the lord, I meant to say that i feel like praising the Lord. I dont feel like i have to do it. I want to do it. My bad guys.
