Cannabis and napping ! ?

Ok so i just came across something amazing . And yes mods this should be a blog post but i also have a question so HA ! (sorry i love you guys . Thanks for making bluelight great and not full of trollz and ignorant people )

But yeah moving on . ..

So lately ive discovered this amazing new thing .

I have always wondered how to cure that horrible burnout feeling you get with weed and also how to get that "first time of the day" high back , cause every time you smoke after that first one just isnt as nice .

Well the answer to getting rid of the burnout feeling and to get your first day back is to take a 20-30 minute NAP !

its amazing . You blaze and it feels so much nicer . Your not burnout or anything .
To make it even better , you could have a cup of tea (or anything with caffeine after) and without that or not you still feel alert , your memory is amazing and your just generally in a good mood ! Its amazing .

I can now blaze all day , come home , nap , wake up and totally be ready for my work shift !


But yeah enough with that .
I was wondering if anyone else experiences this as well ?
And i was also wondering if someone could maybe educate this 17 year old kid (ME !) on why this happens ? Like the scientific , neuro , whatever reasons behind it ?

And it probably just resets your brain . Your melatonin levels are high and your brain gets refreshed ? I dunno .
Prolly some more educated guys on here other than me :P lol

I don't mind trying, but it takes me 20 minutes just to get to sleep.
 
yup usually when I have class at 9 am I come back, blaze a couple bowls, then pass back out until the afternoon. I feel better than I would if I didn't take a nap, but not 100%. Still a little tired (and sometimes still a little high).
 
First CD discovered nutrients earlier in the week, and now napping!

I'm so proud to be part of such a revolutionary era in CD history.

If you want the neuroscience behind it, I will give you a very, very simple and brief rundown.

You smoke weed. It passes your BBB (blood brain barrier). THC and CBD/Ns bind to your CB1/CB2 receptors, which line your mesolimbic area (and other places). These start out as electrical signals in the presynapse, which travel down dendrites/axons and so on until it reaches it's respective receptors where it becomes a chemical signal and is released from the presynapse to the synaptic cleft. Your post synapse then either binds the chemical through gates (in this case, CB1/CB2 receptors) or close, leaving these signals in your cleft which are either bound or pushed out / "erased" by sodium or potassium and certain proteins.

While sleeping, your brain (i would assume) releases NA/K/Cl- and proteins which then destroy chemicals still chilling in your synapse - so no more chemicals to bind in the post synapse.

As far as why this seems to help your comedown - cannabis makes you tired/sleepy and generally "burned out"! Sleep in and of itself helps you a lot, and the neuroscience and orgo behind that is something I don't want to get into here.

I agree...sometimes when I'm blazed, especially during the late afternoon, I end up falling asleep. Yes, when I wake up I can have caffeine and get real high again and be more efficient but a nap is something that just sort of happens...plus sometimes I really hate it when I get so high I take an unintentional nap, almost a waste of buds IMO.
 
Im going to go out on a limb here and say that a very high percentage of weed smokers nap, or take naps every once in a while.
 
Hate naps. Probably psychological fallout from when my parents forced me to nap as a child ;p
 
Naping and smoking weed go hand and hand my friend. Just dont forget to set that alarm or you might end up not waking up as soon as you expext %)

I nap when smoking heavy indica, a little less w Sativa blends, and almost never when vaping. I like to do all 3 for different moods and reasons.
