Can someone explain MS Instant Release vs. Oxycodone ??

Hi All,

Holy hell I hope I don't break any of ya'lls rules. As an act of good faith, I've read for about the last hour and can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

The Scoop:

Today I got a script for generic Morphine Sulfate Instant Release, as well as Oxycodone 30mg Instant Release tabs. I visited my PM because I was taking like 40 Norco a day with nothing but simply staving off withdrawal.

I swallowed one MSIR and it almost made me puke. Not a moment later did I stuff a suppository to cure that. So now I'm fine, but just like when I was originally in the hospital for this injury, when the morphine wears off, the headache begins. So I just took another by mouth, and it really is not that much fun.

The type of high I am looking for:

The one that hydrocodone used to give me when I first started taking it. It made me want to be nice to liberals. Any asshole could not get on my nerves. Now, years later the stuff does nothing for me. So I got Oxycodone, and I like that pretty well, but it still makes me a little dizzy and not as functional as the hydro did when it was getting me high like I enjoyed (plugging Oxycodone is the way to go). So the Oxycodone IR is ok. I think I'll stick with it, but this morphine I'm not to sure about. Should it be plugged too, or based on what I've said so far will I not enjoy that?

What does anyone suggest to get that energetic high that hydro used to give me? I am seeing my PM again in one week, and he is pretty open to anything that would typically be a good med for breakthrough pain to prescribe along side the Oxycodone... because I've pretty much decided that I'm keeping that stuff on board.

I am uneducated as to what Roxicodone is, as well as some others that I have seen highlighted on this website. Anyones suggestions will be greatly appreciated! **Just remember, I'm not looking to get the sedated, nonfunctional type high going on...I want the happy high *** I wanna love somebody! LOL

P.S. Whats up with the weight gain involved with these opiates?? Any I should steer clear from that make you gain weight? I'm a female and I gotta keep the figure right.

oxycodone has allways been a more energetic high for far so more than hydro. just saying. if you like the oxy why not get an ER and an IR version of it for maintaining and break-thru pain?

And i dont know if there is any distinct correlation with the meds actually making you gain weigh other than water weight from the thirst it gives me, but perhaps look at any changes in your diet you have made like say an increased consumption of sweet things.

Thanks. Thats actually a pretty brilliant idea. Oxycodone seems to work the best for me, so I should do that. I think the only other thing outside a variation of hydrcodone, oxycodone or morphine (IR or ER), is a fentanyl patch...and I'm not going there

Why would I have to visit the forum if I wanted to see anymore responses? I put this forum as a watched forum and I receive instant emails when someone replies. Am I missing something?
