Can smoking weed cause Synesthesia?

I do trip a lot on mushrooms, not lately though. And I rarely trip on acid.

The other day I smoked a bowl from a bong of some really dank weed (it was really white). And I was in my room and had music playing. I could see the music on the wall. It was actually better than the time I saw it on acid. My whole wall was covered with waves of colors and notes that matched perfectly to the music. It was incredible! I was also tasting and feeling colors for some time after that.

Can weed actually cause synesthesia? If not than is there any way to explain why this happened to me? And I don't believe weed is ever laced...



Edit- Also does anybody know if this is synesthesia? - I was staring at the ceiling and saw my sentences being made. There were boxes and each one had a word in the center like nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. And right before I said something out loud, I would see lines appear in a row with words like noun, etc. under each 1. And when I started to speak, words would move out of the boxes and fill in the spaces on the lines. Was I seeing my self form sentences?

IME yes it can.

THC is a psychedelic.

I've gotten synesthesia from smoking herb and I've had it while sober with feeling/seeing certain sounds. This was not during a period of my life when I was tripping on either acid or shrooms as I haven't done either for years.

OP, yeah I've tripped from smoking, but only after I started doing acid.

It does for me, but then again I'm with Merleau-Ponty in thinking that all perception is synaesthetic anyway.

Yes definitely, especially with a low tolerance and strong sativa...

Yah I have a low tolerance to weed because I don't smoke that much. And I took a 3 month tolerance break about a month ago. I don't like smoking that much because my high has become sooo much more psychedelic since I started tripping a lot. And IME, when I have super dank weed I can actually trip pretty hard. So when I relax I usually smoke some schwag now.

Today I smoked it again and I got the same thing. It is so amazing to just sit back and see and pretty much feel the music. I even saw sounds that weren't music. My friend closed a drawer and when it closed I saw a piece of wood break in 2 on the wall. It was outlined on the wall with colors, but not filled in.
