I had addiction before, but I don't anymore. I know better now and am only taking caffeine. But I signed up for this day program which I don't know if I'm mandated or not. I asked them if I could up and leave anytime? They said yes since it is not a real rehab. I mean I really do have better things to do. It is not easy to put up with other crazy, stupid, drug addicted people and now I realize that I am the most sane out of all of them. But that is not the problem. The problem is they don't even give a damn. Like they aren't even picking me up right now. Why should I give a damn if they don't give a damn. I can be at home studying and playing video games by myself. But what ramifications will this have on me in the future? Like if I try to receive more mental health services will it be more difficult? Thanks!

There is a lot of info that is needed to say for certain. Is this something you signed up for voluntarily? If yes, you can probably quit but you may lose any money paid to them. If it's something suggested/mandated by the legal system, you should probably follow through and complete it, regardless of your personal feelings toward the program.

It seems like there is a lot of information missing to really effectively give you an answer. Is this for drugs/alcohol, mental health, or both? What originally compelled you to sign up? What type of program is this? Are you paying out-of-pocket or is insurance covering some/all of it?

^agreed. Why are/were you there? Does anyone want you to be there? Doctor? Authorities? What exactly do you mean by "not picking you up right now?" Without more context, it's hard to know what to suggest.

It's illegal for them to hold you against your will unless you were involuntarily admitted or unless they judge you to be a risk to yourself or others. If you signed yourself in and you're not likely to put yourself or others at risk due to psychiatric instability, they can't deprive you of liberty.

I know it feels like they don't care, but legally permitting private companies to essentially kidnap people is definitely the worst option in this scenario.
