Can i take lyrica with tramadol

Can i take like 800mg of lyrica with 250mg of tramadol without there being a giant seizure risk?
How about 150mg of tramadol with 800mg of lyrica?
Or 150mg with 600mg?
I would really prefer to take 800mg with 250mg of tramadol...
I also dont have a tolerance to either but i am familiar with both of the effects because i have taken both of them before.
 
lyrica is an anti-convulsant...it's used for partial seizures or as an adjunct for epilepsy...

yes you can take the lyrica...it actually LOWERS the risk of seizures...

I thought that doses over 600mg raised the risk of seizures?
I think i read that in a thread on here.
Anyway if it lowers the risk of seizures thats good.
 
^This is true. Try 250mg tramadol with 400mg lyrica, or 150mg lyrica with 500mg lyrica. Remember drugs can work together to both cumulatively lower the seizure risk, so don't take 600mg lyrica with any amount of tramadol.
 
Ive never heard of lyrica lowering the seizure threshold before. I thought it acted the same as gabapentin in that regard but i could be mistaken. Lyrica is not used here in Canada to treat epilepsy at all unlike gabapentin.

Lyrica will lower the risk of seizures and it may help with some of the shitty side effects of tramadol and actually add some drowsiness to it. I never took tramadol without gabapentin/lyrica and clonazepam because tramadol alone makes me too jittery.

ParanoidAndroid, Lyrica works to reduce seizures at normal dosages, but can actually cause seizures at abusive dosages, like 600mg of Lyrica or above. This is why it is recommended to take a little bit (2.5-5mg) of Valium, Restoril, Clonazepam, or another anticonvulsive-benzo (not Xanax as it is a weak anticonvulsant) before dosing very highly on Lyrica.
 
Meh...I survived 1200mg of lyrica yesterday, and I dosed another 600mg less than 2 hours later lol...I must have a very high seizure threshold I guess lmfao...
 
I have one more question, i took 500mg lyrica and im going to take tramadol when i start to feel the lyrica wear off, i took the lyrica about 2 hours ago. Anyway when i take the tramadol would 900mg of gabapentin be safe?
 
I would think so...why only 900mg of gabapentin if you just took 500mg of pregabalin? You won't feel shit off that lol...
 
completely safe, even preventative. tramadol lowers seizure threshold through increase of monoamine activity(typically dangerous around 200-400mg for most people), while lyrica increases seizure threshold by indirect GABA activity and its effect on alpha 1 voltage-dependent calcium channels
 
I thought it "mimicked" GABA activity? or is that what that means? lol

I just remembered saying in one thread that lyrica and gabapentin were gabaergic drugs and then getting told that they aren't lol...
 
You could take another high dose of lyrica and enjoy both of them...

I don't see how you get enjoyment from these drugs though lol...I can take 400mg of tramadol and not get any form of a high...albeit, I've been taking it for 16 months lol...
 
This is my first time taking tramadol in awhile to be honest, last time (like last summer) i took 200mg and felt a little weird, not really fun...
But im thinking if i mix it with lyrica (i really enjoy lyrica) that it may feel a lot better.
So ya im going to take about 700mg of lyrica with 250mg of tramadol once the 500mg wears off.
Oh and do you know if i can still take vyvanse friday without it interacting with the tramadol?
Since tramadol is a ssri (i think) and vyvanse shouldnt be mixed with ssri's because of serotonin syndrome

Ha, i do too man i used to take like a gram of tramadol and handfuls of gaba or lyrica or just way too fuckin much tram. Also at one time i took like 5 or 6 hundred mg of tram while withdrawing from a high dose xanax and i was on my 2nd or 3rd day and no seizure.

BUT to get to the point! you can be lucky many many many times pushing the envelope when it comes to seizures but sometimes people will have had no problems ever even rediculous doses and then next time they take some tram they could only take a fraction of what they have been able to survive before and BAM! all of a sudden they wake up in the ER bein told they had a grand mal. So just lettin everyone that doesnt know this that it can happen to you without any previous troubles or signs so just be careful guys. I believe it was here that i read about the seizure threshold changing out of no where by a very knowledgable poster i believe. Anyways theres my two cents to anyone that reads this.
Btw, Jktm i wasnt tryin to preach to you or really anything about you just your post reminded me of this and i wanted to share this with people that dont know incase it might possibly save someones life or atleast make them think a little more about the risks.

Damn you got some balls lol i would be way to scared to take that much.
Anyways i took 300mg more lyrica and 250mg of tramadol, and woa this is nice its like being drunk while on opiates haha

lol either balls or just reckless, plus while i was coming off xanax big time and already felt like i was on the verge of a seizure; but if you didnt see, sometimes i would take 1000 mg but always with some benzos because i knew that even bein so "ballsy" that i probably would need those to not have a seizure.

And hell yeah lyrica is the shit by itself if you are one of the ones that get awesome effects from it like me, but adding tram with it is just heaven. btw im also one of those people that love the hell out of tramadol. even when i had a 300+ mg a daily methadone habit i could take like 500 mg of tram and still feel damn good. One of my favorite combos with downers is lyrica or gaba (high dose), strong opioid (high dose), tramadol (high dose), strong benzo (medium dose), and a lot of good weed. haha but ofcourse this isnt the safest thing to do but im not saying im very safe but i also have high tolerances to all of those except weed so i do not advise this combo to anyone, it is very dangerous if you dont have much tolerance or knowledge on your body and substances.

And to answer your last question. If you only took 250 mg of tram today then i think you will be fine with the vyvanse friday, just dont take an excessive amount. I believe you are the BL'er thats been taking a lot of vyvanse recently and talking about psychosis so i would really try to slow down on that stuff man because excessive use is really hard on your body and mind. Just some advice from someone whose been around the block a bit and been there too.

Ya dude ive been taking a hell of a lot of vyvanse, i passed out from lyrica and tramadol for a hour, i just woke up lol. But i most certainly will slow down on the vyvanse.

I know that Lyrica has anticonvulsant properties, but I have heard from multiple bluelighters that doses above 600mg actually *lower* the seizure threshold. I currently have tons of Lyrica and Tramadol, and 25mg xanax.

I am concerned about combining tramadol with high dose lyrica (i have a tolerance so i need at least 750mg lyrica to get anything), but I currently coming off a month of opiate binging (bupe, hydromorphone, morphine, heroin and methadone). I find that lyrica is actually better than benzos for cessation of opiate WDs.

So I want to combine just 100mg of tramadol with maybe 900mg or 1000mg of lyrica and I'm wondering if a high dose of the lyrica would be alright with such a low dose of tram, because I'd rather avoid a seizure. I was thinking that If I added 1mg of xanax to the mix that it would raise the seizure threshold enough to guarantee safety. Is that a reasonable assumption? 900mg + 100mg tram + 1mg xanax daily = seizure-free detox?
