I used diazepam sporadically for over a year. Let's say on average 10-20mg a week. But only ever dosing on 1 or 2 days a week. And sometimes going for weeks with no withdrawal effects at all.

However in the last 2 weeks I've used much more frequently. I'd say the last 10 or so days have been something like:
20mg
20mg
40mg
none
none
10mg
none
30mg
40mg
none
10mg

Now do you think I can just go back to what I was doing before, and say not take anything in this next week with no adverse effects?

Is not a good idea to CT benzo's s you can have a seizure and die. Valium has a LNG half life, I've never been addicted to it but I heard it can sometimes take a few days without to begin to feel the withdrawals. I would taper down before attempting to quit CT

Benzo withdrawal is nothing to be taken lightly. That rapid taper that you posted is nowhere near long enough to do any good. I recently tried to taper off benzos, but things got so bad that I had to go back to my normal dose.

The poster never posted a taper...?

Or am I blind/they deleted it?

All I see is her explaining her use in the past few weeks, and I don't think that use would call for a taper. A taper when you have really only been using daily (not even daily) for 2 weeks would most likely just get her even more adjusted to the benzo. Or am I wrong here?

Did only one person read his post?

I don't think he has ever been dependent on benzos.

I'd say you'd be fine to go cold turkey. Maybe after two days take 10mg. Another two days or so take 5mg. If you feel bad go up to 10mg. And then stop.

It's the mentally situation I'd be more concerned about. Be very careful with how much you do. maybe try to find out if you can hold off using for some months. Get your tolerance back down.

Yeah the last three posters have the right idea. That list wasn't a taper, just a schedule of my over-consumption in the last week or so. And no I've never been an addict, or anything like a daily user. The only reason I made the post was that I was a little worried I'd overdone it a little in this period (higher doses/nearly daily).

Nothing for 48 hours now, and no adverse effects. I think if anything I might get a little insomnia tonight. Nothing a glass or two of wine won't solve. And yes I plan on taking an extended break now. Cheers

Yep. 2 weeks is not enought to make you physically dependant. Your previous use wasn't frequent enough to have an effect. You can safely just quit cold turkey.

Honestly, ive been on xanax for two years now, and i agree completely that there is no dependence for your situation. Ive taken anywhere from 1mg to 8mg a day and stopped cold turkey just from running out. Ive experienced being more tense, heavy breathing when trying to sleep, and i wasnt able to fall asleep easily. The withdrawals from benzos is apparantly dangerous which i believe, but for me, its just way more anxiety

Doubt there is much risk at all for seizure. You may feel some rebound anxiety and temporary insomnia, but not much else. You can always take 2.5 or 5 mgs if you can't sleep but after two or three days you should be fine.

Taper between 5% and 10% of the dose and hold for 3weeks at the very least to stabilize before cutting again.
