I was hurting so badly with this sciatica and the 25 mcg fent patches were not working at all. I was on the phone with a lady on a suicide hotline and it helped a lot just venting my frustration with my doctors. I finally got the nerve to go to the ER, but not the last one where they treated me like garbage. I was treated like a decent human being at this one, given a 4mg shot of dilaudid with something else to help it last longer flenigan or something, and a percocet scrip for 30 10/325 take 1-2 every 6 hours. I'm so relived my pain has stopped for a short time I could french granny!

^ So true! Sometimes its just the simple release of emotion that can help wash shit away.

I'm pleased you were able to find some immediate relief. I hope that your regular doctors are now able to come up with a sustainable longterm plan for keeping your pain at tolerable levels.

Just in case you find yourself in a similar situation in the future and are asked what has worked in the past, it's most likely Phenergan (promethazine) which was added to the Dilaudid.
 
I am so sorry to hear you are in pain. I hope you feel better in the near future.

They gave you a shot of dilaudid and phenergan, which is the brand name for the antihistamine promethazine. I hope that it didn't burn, as antihistamines have a tendency to do that, which can be rather unpleasant and even potentially damaging to vein tissue. However if you didn't feel a burn, I am sure you are going to be fine.

Well it was IM and i didn't feel it burn all that much really, it went in my butt lol

Man seriously, good on you for taking the initiative to a) call the suicide hotline, and b) getting yourself to the ER. That shows real courage and integrity to make that decision when you're in so much pain.
