Will consuming dairy products close to the time magnesium citrate is taken significantly decrease absorption through the calcium competing with the magnesium to be absorbed? If so how long should I wait?

don't worry about it, any competition for absorption is minimal (assuming a healthy individual, and sane amounts of calcium/magnesium).
/used to be batshit about spacing my calcium around stuff, turns out its competitiveness is exaggerated, to say the least.

I used to be really bad with that one myself- and, given i've always had chronic heartburn and that tums(ie, "calcium carbonate") have always been a regular item for me, it would get ridiculous. Try aiming for 6 meals, with a handful of supplements, plus drugs at nighttime, and then make it work when you gotta give Tums their own show 2X/day. That's how I tried making college work LOL. Hell, we'd even advise ppl to be careful when they bought calcium from my supplement store.
The truth tho is that it doesn't have strong interactions/competitiveness with most things. There's a handful of things it WILL bother, but I'm not aware of *anyone* for whom that is relevant. Google "calcium + <something specific" for any future concerns (I still do this to this day), and if you don't find it quick I'd consider it fine :)

/o and plz post to the thread that already existed, next time ;]
