So trying again to kick the addiction to oxycodone and well basically what ever I could get my hands on. Roughly a year ago I met with a suboxone doctor and was prescribed 8mg of suboxone, well every time I took the strip id be sick all day/night violently vomiting my brains out until there was nothing more to come up.. In short the doctor was of no help basically told me he had no idea why I was having that reaction and he had my money and thats all he was concerned about. I took it upon myself to start cutting the strips down to smaller doses to see if id have better results, took it down to about 2mg each dose and still had the same reaction. Finally said screw it and gave up.
Ive struggled with using over the past year off and on and when I do get clean off opiates I substitute with other substances namely mdma. Mind you my sobriety moments off opiates are short lived. Now recently I was hospitalized with severe pain from (crohns disease) and was given 2mg Dilaudid every 2 hours plus 10mg Vicodin every 4.. for about a week while I was inpatient, This immediately started my addiction back up and was sent home with Percocet 5mg, that script has been continously refilled until I finally said I cant do this anymore ( was running through a 4 week supply in about a week and a half )
So I called up another suboxone doctor as I didnt want to take the methadone approach, met with this doctor and thoroughly explained what happened with previous attempts and that I will at some point need pain killers again due to my condition but would need to be monitored on them.
We came to the agreement that my best option would be a transdermal patch called 'Butrans' 5mcg/ph. I started this on tuesday morning. Immediately pulled me out of withdrawal within an hour or so, although I through the evening had intense cravings to just have one more taste of oxy, called up the doctors office and they told me to come in today (wednesday) So I wake up this morning and go back in, the result of that visit was to put on a second 5mcg/ph patch and see what happens.. and roughly 14.5 hours later I feel like my cravings are worse than they were yesterday or worse than they were during my withdrawal period. like to the point I have felt like my skin was crawling at times just thinking about it.
My question is, as Ive never had a real round at Suboxone and am now on Butrans.. Does anyone know if the transdermal buprenorphine system is good for maintenance? like I said I have no signs of physical withdrawal... Maybe some mental (a little bit of anxiety/depression nothing cripling though) Is Bupe supposed to eliminate these cravings, I was under the assumption it was :/ I really cant keep going through hours and hours and hours of these cravings its driving me mad. I finally took a few Kratom capsules to calm it down, but thats not another problem I want to start.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, I really just feel helpless.
Thanks
