Hi Everyone,
I am an ex-bluglighter-mod from SLR, some of you may remember me. I left bluelight and resigned my position because of entering firstly a drug detox programme for benzo abuse and addition along with polydrug abuse.
I now find myself back here at bluelight seeking possible support and experience from the wealth of knowledge with you all.
I firstly apologise for the length of this post, but please bear with me if you can.
After completing 18 months of diazepam taper and withdrawing from all meds, I began experiencing possibly drug abuse induced depression and other psychological issues, to the point of disregard for my life, and a serious concern for my continued existence on this world. Since that time I have been diagnosed as possible bipolar type 2 with hypomanic episodes, with my symptoms being both masked and self medicated by polydrug abuse.
I have tried over 14 different SSRIs, SNRIs, NRIs, Atypical Antidepressants, Tricyclic Antidepressants, MAOIs and mood stabilisers for my possible bipolar. (at this time I am withdrawing from lithium (mood stabiliser) and moclobemide (reversible MAOI) which is rough to say the least)
None of these worked and even combinations (californian rocket fuel as colloquially known) have not worked.
Now my psychiatrist who was the resident national specialist in treatment resistant depression has reached the end of his abilities and 'cookbook' as it were to treat my depression, I am sick of trying the same thing (more SSRIs etc) and going through the same titration difficulties and then the withdrawal symptoms.
I am now working with a new psychiatrist who is willing to advocate some 'out of the box' methods including the use of buprenophine and possible methylphenidate to address my lack of energy etc.
He did mention however that there have never been any official trials between the conjunct use of buprenophine and methylphenidate. There is no chemical/psychological reason why these medicines are contraindicated however, since there are no double blind studies (no animal studies etc), there is only the known 'dangers' of mixing opiates and stimulants.
Has anyone had any experience with this, whether it be extended recreational use, or maybe the continued abuse of stimulants while on bupe treatment, or even (hopefully) psychiatric experience with both bupe and a stimulant?
I apologise again for the length of this post. I appreciate any responses.
Thanks
