This is bullshit man - after waiting forever for this damn thing to arrive (the upgrade kit) it finally comes in a very light weight box. When I open it up there is just a letter saying that it was seized pursuant to "Title 19 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Section 145.59" becasue it was "narcotics and/or contraband prohibited from entering the US". What the fuck! I thought this shit was legal to order the kit, it's not like I ordered a bunch of beans. I've email the eztest people and I'm waiting for their reply, but has anyone else had this problem?

The EZ-Test people I doubt will be able to solve your problem. My advice is to contact the US custom's service as this is their domain.

I order my kits from dancesafe.com and never had a problem so far. Should this happen to me I would be very pissed but at the same time I would treat it the same way as if someone would have sold me a fake pill, do nothing and forget about it. Who would want to bring attention to himself?
Just try ordering another one from a different place.

I had one seized by customs over a year ago. I sent the EZ-Test people an e-mail and they sent me another free of charge.
Adios,
Steve

Our harm reduction group had one seized in customs, but the next 3 after that have come in without any problems, i just think that somebody in customs is suffering from cranial-rectal inversion.

A year ago they thought EZ Tests contained "poppers" (A drug often used by gays).
Once they understood, it was not poppers, we could continue our business without any further problems.
Some enthousiastic customs guy (probably new and hoping for a fast promotion....) apparently did something similar.
We are on it (pnoning and faxing) and do not expect any further problems (just like last year).

Aj sort it out.
Poppers (a drug often used by gays) fuck me thats the kinda line a newspaper/media would use to describe it... come on guys..(no need for broad generlisations now is there)
Poppers = Amyl Nitrite or Butyl Nitrite
I think it was originally a cardiovascular dilator for people with heart conditions.
Also usefull in cases of Cyanide Poisoning.
(For all you BEE's messing with SodiumCyanoborohydride)
Amyl Nitrite (Systemic)

Sorry about "Poppers (a drug often used by gays)" but I could not think of a better description right away. Forgive me, I am Dutch ;-)
Anyway, it is confirmed, Customs think it is poppers. If you receive a letter from Customs, you should petition it ( I think that is the word they use), only then they (apparently) start some kind of investigation and hopefully figure out that it does not contain poppers, or anything else illegal.
If you agree with their letter, so no petition, they will simply throw it awaw after a while.
Same thing as about a year ago...
It sux but we can't help it. They think everything in funny little bottles that smells weird, is poppers. As if the label does not warn that it contains some highly toxic liquids. Wonder how this customs guy felt after a few deeeeeep sniffs....

Sure. Petition it. Tell customs it's for testing ecstasy. They'll understand. They'll understand that it's a matter for the DEA...

They said they would send it out again, so that's cool - they should put a disclaimer explaining exactly what it is so that the dumb asses at customs wont trash it.

Again, its not EZ-Test's fault. You are being lazy by letting another company 'fix' it for you. Its not a fix. It could happen again. You should complain, its your own country's custom service thats at fault, not EZ-Test. Go hassle customs. They have to obey the law as well.
A disclaimer? For what? There is nothing to disclaim. There are labels all over the shop about what it is, and detailed instructions.

In Canada, if you tell customs it's an EZ-testing kit for pills, you'd BETTER WATCH OUT! They won't help out (even if they had no right to seize it in the first place) unless it was a kit used for your science project in grade school. And even then, you'd be given the run around by Customs and may not even get it back. And then if they called over to the cops to keep an eye on you for *drug suspiscion* well, you get the point. Shit could happen.
For those who had their kits seized, try ordering again. It may cost you $, but the chances of Customs seizing your kit a 2nd time is almost virtually impossible. Believe me, I worked for Immigration Canada in Toronto and we are the cousin department to the CCRA (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency). that's my scoop - as an ex-federal officer and a fan of the illegal stuff....
Oh, and as a bisexual male, I laughed my ass off at the poppers/gay association comment. HA! It's true, but it still is a generalization or stereotype. Oh well, it was a good laugh anyways.

soma: it is custom's fault for getting it wrong, but they don't exactly make it easy to complain. When I originally sent off for mine, it was also seized by US customs. The letter mentioned something about if I disagreed, I could go before someone to do something about it, but that it would cost $x amt of money (it was alot, I don't remember now) for fees. This basically kept me from doing so, as I figured I just lost $20. It did piss me off, but I really did not have the money to fight it, or the desire to draw any attention to myself. :(

I wonder how much it costs EZ-Test to provide and ship another product free of charge to the consumer because of their inability to stand up for themselves?

unfortunatly i have a feeling hat 9/11 has a lot to do with all this, in that customs is now overworked, and is cutting corners where it can; ie anything thats too hard just gets denied.
this is what i'm guessing is happening in australia, where EZ Test product has not been getting thru, and there haven't even been any explanatory notes from customs saying they have been withheld.

what do you mean "4ea"? feel free to right back and tell em it doesn't, coz it don't.
That's what the letter said "4 ea. of amyl nitrate". I think I'm going to petition this.

incase any of you are wondering they now sell them down at manly (sydney) for $26 bucks i think, which aint too bad and customs wont take em!
