I went on a trip to the bahamas and a guy came up and offered me some bud, and he said no one ever buys bud because they think they are getting ripped off because the bud is a lot thicker. he gave me what looked like maybe a little under a G. and it weighed 2.5. It also smelled really strong, but not like a normal weed smell, more exotic kinda. I took 4 alright hits off a pipe, and damn I was so fucked up. I swear EVERYBODY knew I was stoned, and my body high was soo good, but it turned out bad since I convinced myself I was actually like dying instead haha. I have never gotten more paranoid and high off of weed like that and I have smoked lots. But it did in fact feel like a weed high. I mean after I bought it, the guy said don't worry nobody thinks your high as I left. Even people looked like they were always staring at me.

Has anyone ever had bud that made them EXTREMELY paranoid? And can certain kinds make you more paranoid? And why was it so dense and sticky and brown? Is it just because its the bahamas? haha

outdoor sativas man. I had the same type of thing in jamaica. One of the guys that worked at the resort hooked me up. He saw me talking to the drug dealers on the beach, and asked me if i needed anything. I told him yeah but i cant have my parents seeing cuz i was 17 at the time. So i gave him 20 bucks and he told me to just wait in my room in ten minutes. He came back with like a half ounce of these super big long buds.

I went to take a shower and smoked while i was in there, and when i was done and drying off i could hear my mom and sisters talking about how they were smelling weed and me smoking in the bathroom and shit. So i stayed in there for like 20 minutes trying to air it out, and when i finally opened the door the room was pitch black and nobody was there.

They were out on the beach the whole time and i was just tripping out. After that i felt way better the weed didnt look great but the high was awesome.

Sounds like some kind Bahama bud, my friend.
And whoever said outdoor grown, probably correct.
But it sounds like they at least knew what they were doing.
I think people vastly underestimate the outdoors as a powerful growing technique.
(Given of course proper weather, climate, proper genetics, and some grow know-how)

Sounds like you got some good stuff. :)

A friend of mine went to Jamaica and he said how herb is decriminalized and basically legal there even though it's a rather dangerous country and that you can easily get high grade Sativa herb there.

ive read before that outdoor bud doesnt look as good because the elements knock off trichromes, but because its out in the real sun and not grow lights, and its exposed to wind and stuff that it produces more resin inside the leaves and bud which makes it really strong.

And yeah jamaicas pretty lenient i guess although you could be arrested. All the locals had orange eyes. Like not even red just orange it was weird. And while i was blazin it in the bathroom i was standing in the shower sticking my head out the little window to exhale, and some random jamaican guy walking by sees and yells "you aint got to hide that here mon!"

One of the coolest memories i have of the trip though is riding a bus back to the resort at night. On the way we would pass through these rural villages that were pretty much like campsites but the people built huts out of scrap metal and stuff. Anyway passing through the villages you could see a bunch of huge cherries in the dark from the rastas hitting their spliffs. Like you could see it faintly floating there until hed take a drag, and all of a sudden it would get really bright and youd see like eyes and dreads around it for a second til it went dim again. They were big spliffs too the cherries were like an inch and a half across. Pretty cool scene.

Haha i miss being 17 and all stoked about getting stoned. When we landed and got into the jamaican airport i went to the bathroom and some rasta guy was standing at the urinal smoking a huge joint and i knew it was gonna be a great trip. There was also nugs all over the rooms like under the beds and all along the walls in the crack between the carpet and wall.

I've never been to Jamaica but I've heard from people who have been there that they don't like tourists especially white tourists there even if they pretend to be OK with the tourists who are not Jamaican to their faces, is that true?

I have also been told that Jamaica is a very dangerous place to go if you are gay/bisexual or a transgendered person.

ive been to jamaica and everyone is really nice, in the tourist areas lol. dont go to the ghetto's of jamaica even though the whole place looks like the ghetto., other than that its a beautiful place and you see weedplants just growing in yards and people toking up all over the place. it is illegal though, just nobody cares

In jr. HS my neighbor went to Jamaica with his sister, mom, and his stepdad when his mom and stepdad got married and they stayed at a resort and were basically told not to leave the resort alone and not to go into the bad areas.

My parents went to Jamaica in the early 70s when they got married and they said how it was not that nice of a place then.

My cousin went to Jamaica after graduating college with friends of hers and I have no idea if they smoked since we're not as close as we were when I was younger.

yeah jamaica is really sketchy.

I never went to anywhere "real" in jamaica, just resorts and touristy areas. Some people were genuinely nice, but a lot of people were obviously faking it and just had bad vibes in general. 99% of locals i came into contact with were working some kind of hustle, literally everybody sold weed. Like i stopped on the side of the road where this guy had a cart and was selling chicken to get a sandwich, and he tried to sell me weed. The maintenance guy at the resort hooked me up. On the beaches there were guys openly selling all kinds of drugs, people aggressivly pushing bracelets and stuff, and rasta guys trying to take you on tours of weed fields for 20 bucks.

And yes there was seriously weed all over the room when i got there. i was 17, loved weed and reggae, and was pretty sure it was heaven.

i'd like to experience the real Jamaican culture but 1) i don't want to endanger my life. and 2) i would probably be perceived as some liberal/highly idealistic/ignorant american by the locals.

i saw an anthony bourdain episode in jamaica. he experienced the jamaica i'd want to see, but he has it better off than any other visitor in terms of security and access.

this is the first thing you see when you visit the wiki travel page on Jamaica.

WARNING: May 25th: Jamaica has declared a state of emergency in the capital city of Kingston. Many civilians are reported dead and some policemen have been killed. Gangs are currently protecting an alleged druglord wanted by the United States for extradition. The police and the army have been storming at ben his stronghold. Ongoing riots and conflict within the city are likely to continue for some time. While most of the rest of the country is reportedly quiet, sporadic shooting has been heard in the Montego Bay area. Governments are advising their nationals to exercise considerable caution and to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly to Kingston.

completely o/t

That's in small parts of the capitol, Kingston. Tony Bourdain certainly doesn't go anywhere dangerous... And as a foreigner abroad you are usually much safer than the locals, just for the sake of being white. I certainly don't know about Jamaica, but I've been to something like 27 countries, actually been in the middle of a military "coup", and not once have I felt my life endangered. If you read the state department reports for some of those countries, you'd think I'd be hacked to death with a machete, shot with an AK-47 and varieties of pistols, stabbed, robbed, raped, fulls of AIDS and malaria (though I've had a number of other tropical illnesses).
The point is... if you live in a bubble and listen to that crap without getting first hand information from people who have been on the ground, you're going to be stuck in suburbia USA.

i'll certainly take your word for it. i'd like to travel as much as possible, but it's just not economically feasible atm. thanks for that man, that's exactly what i wanted to hear.
