Some people mentioned when I was asking around about the combo of 2C-E and Subutex that they thought as a combination it would be quite hedonistic. I would not disagree. I would say, however, that for me 2C-E has always been a very hedonistic experience. The same goes for most phenethylamines, unfortunately. They have never really done a whole lot for me as far as self exploration goes and have ended up time and again as lovely if rather uninformative experiences. Even the visuals for me where not noteworthy in comparison to my tryptamine experiences. Patterns in the floor or walls or clouds would become more obvious and warp into really cool shapes, but often they would be less pronounced or intense then my friends reactions and stories. They always put me in a very familiar and comforting headspace and 2C-E especially always made for a great mixing of the sensory pathways and thus was a favourite party and concert drug of mine. But always the visuals were subpar to me in comparison with the things my friends were reporting.
Until I mixed it with Buprenorphine that is.
The day of the combination was an STS9 show we were excited about going to. The company was myself, my girlfriend, and our roommate. My memory fails me on the amount and as to whether or not I dosed before heading to the show but what I do know for certain is that both my roommate and myself snorted our doses of Buprenorphine in the car once we got there and took our caps of 2C-E around the same time. The Bupe was somewhere between 1 and 2 mgs depending on whether or not we had dosed earlier ending with a total of 2-4 mgs each. The amount of 2C-E in the caps was less than our standard of 25-30 mgs (high I know) and was somewhere around 15-20 mgs. This was our first time with this combo and we were unable to find any reports about it, thus the reduction in the amount of psychedelic.
We had to park some blocks away from the venue as it was in the heart of the city and there was nothing closer. On the walk there we got quite a few odd looks and comments. This was because I was dressed in what could, ostensibly, be described as a monk or wizards robe. It is a big heavy black getup, complete with a gigantic head swallowing hood. We eventually arrived at the venue. They had not started letting people in yet and the line for ticket pickup was about as pompous as my outfit. It was quite hot and muggy even though the sun was beginning to set and being in a large line, coming up on a new powerful combo of drugs, and wearing a rather heavy and hot robe did not help. But we survived. I honestly don’t remember as much as I wish I did about the effects of the drug combo alone as this was my first STS9 show and if you’ve ever been too one you know how visually stunning and immersive it is all by itself. There was some overheating on my part but I was also in a packed outdoor venue on a muggy Florida evening in a thick costume. I ended up taking it off in front of a fan and that really helped, so I think this was mostly up to the environment. It was nothing serious at any rate.
What little I can directly attribute to the drug combination was FANTASTIC! The body experience on the come up was like floating on an electric cloud and as I would nod of a little and close my eyes to enjoy the sensations more two great turning wheels of green fire would appear and dance before my inner consciousness. I can honestly count on one hand the times I’ve experienced closed eye visuals and this is one of them. I will be repeating this again at some point with a higher psychedelic dosage.
