I voted for "Dtergent" but felix was in 2nd place in my book.

felix: the reason I did not vote for you was, I felt that everything from the horizon UP was nice. the lighthouse, the intense blue sky, the clouds, the flag pole, and even the saturation of the green grass. I liked it all!

but! ( to me ) the foreground was distracting. the dirt road with the "Y" and the rock wall have a "leading line" effect that kept drawing my eye from the foreground to the horizon but the "Y" in the road brought my eyes AROUND the lighthouse INSTEAD rather than TO the light house.
I think if you would have shot from the far right, meaning right "Y" side of the dirt road would have crossed your foreground horizontally, leaving only that one path and lots of green grass yours would be the best hands down!

I do not want to critique your photo in a negetive way AT ALL. but I like your photos alot and i just wanted to give some constructive criticism to the person I almost voted for, and let you know what I LIKED and what I did not like. I hope you will apprieciate my comment rather than being offened. (I wasnt sure whether to post this comment or not)

hey, thanks for your comments. i'm not 100% convinced I agree though, i kinda like the shape of the road actually, they're like legs. i was taking the phallic nature of the lighthouse to the next level. :)

i do try my best to keep things uncluttered whenever i can. maybe next time i take a photo of that lighthouse i'll climb the gate ;)

The pic has a distinct Atlantic "bitterness" to it, if you know what I mean. And if it is not in the Atlantic, then you did a good job making it look like it is :D
 
I chose Dtergent's pic - I think I remember the poster saying it wasn't a particularly good photo but I have to really disagree, it's quite a haunting, striking photo.
 
I chose felix's-- because, although I agree with the composition comments, and I would prolly have framed it a different way, my feelings get me all the time with these things. I think it's a good one

I like the colors and being there would have definitely made me think, "Golly gee, it's a good day to be alive!", and then I would roll in the grass or something.

Silly Alien gets the feeling of just 'why' the lighthouse is there rather than it's architectural merits (or otherwise) Context is as ever paramount.

Mind you I know fuck all about photography so I might be talking shite.
 
I voted for Raving Loony- your picture gave me a wonderful feeling. Im not sure what it is about it.....The lighting maybe? I just love it.
I haven't voted in many of these but this one- even though there weren't many submitted- was sooo hard for me to choose! I loved everyones. The color in Dtergent and SA's is great. Gray days on the water are comforting.... I LOVED the waves caught in air on Sa's ;)
And on Felix's - I LIKE the Y :) If anything I think it ADDS to the picture:)
