all right people. call me silly but i think it's time that some of the terms used within our rave/club/drug scene were defined. properly. for the benefit of new users and bluelighters and for ourselves.
there is a lot of dispute on many terms such as 'peaking' and 'e-tard/ness/ing'. soooo i being a descendant of one of the most prominent figures in development of the english language, thought that just maybe we could get a list of all sorts of different definitions together in a list and who knows maybe even send them off to a dictionary publisher so our beloved words could get added in...
here are few that i'd personally like explained and defined better:
etard
to peak
to roll (synonym of the above?)
e-puddle
eye kandy
kandy kids
...now call me stupid (i know u will anyway

) but i think that it'd b good to havd some of these argued and debated until someone comes up with good definitions...

I think 'to peak' is the climax of the experience, when you're really feeling the whole of the drug, the body rushes, the intense happiness, and all the other side affects at their strongest
'To roll' would be under the effects of ecstacy, not actually at the peak, but the whole period from when you start to feel the effect until you come down.
e-puddle? havn't heard that one yet (don't wanna think about it too much, there's plenty of ways that one could go

e-tard: rendered close to unintelligable but with a smile firmly plastered on one's face...
eye kandy: all the plastic coloured jewelry and accessories worn by ravers
... or ...
decorations (it depends on the context I guess, tho i've never used the term so I could be wrong)
Kandy kids: The ravers who wear all the plastic stuff
I think all the terms that describe the taking of the drug should be added...
parachuting
plugging
snorting (ok, just about everyone knows that one)
...etc...
and maybe all the alternate names for the different drugs, ie ecstacy can be: pills, bickies, eckies, e's, etc...

Hmmmm, I'm taking just a wild guess with a few of these, I'm sure there is actually no real english dictionary meaning to any of them, but, phew, here it goes:
Etard: when you have consumed too many tabs of e (gotta love that term!) that you develop quite a scattered, messy state of mind.
You can't function as per normal,
(Human traffic, prime example! "R2...2D...DR...Ohhh, fuck it!")
You feel like a retard, hence the word etard!
Peaking: I (and I'm sure most people will agree) find a drug exprience like a journey.
First you come up, and it continues to build up and get stronger, and stronger until BAM!
You reach the strongest that it's going to get and the highest you are to feel, which is called the peak. Hence the word, peaking.
Eye Kandy: Ummmmm, something that is pleasing to the eye?!?
Kandy Kids: Is this the same description as Kandy Ravers? Pacifiers, chupa chups, fluffy backpacks, covered in glitter and looks and behaves like they are 7 years old??!
Also another one I'd like to put in -
Ghurning: (correct spelling?) The accidental facial expresses you manage to pull when you are extremely farked, (ie. on copius amounts of drugs, particulary ecstacy)this may also be called being "Off your chops."

Hehe! It's a silly American raver term.
E-Puddles, it's a noun actually. E-Puddles are the groups of kiddies at raves who are rolling too hard to dance, so they just plop down in the middle of the floor in a big pile and rub eachothers shoulders and such. They're annoying to people trying to dance -- VERY ANNOYING when they do it in front of the speakers to get a heightened body buzz from the vibrations
-- but still. You can't get too mad at the e-puddles. They're such a blissed out bunch.

Man i had this wicked bickie last night.Once i peakedit wasnt long till i was e-tarded.Lucky a kandy Kidwas close by to give me a chewie and a nice massage!That made my rollsmooth again,allowing me to consentrate on my eye candy

Ah hahah! Very cool thread!
Those definitions are great... here are a few more that might be worth mentioning (not all related directly to drugs):
Pill/Bickie/Eckie/Roll/Goog/Egg/etc...: A pill sold as ecstacy.
Good Pill (/Bickie etc.): A pill containing MDMA.
Great Pill (/Bickie etc.): A pill containing at least a threshold dose of MDMA. (80-120mg+... u wish)

Shite Pill/Bomb/Speedbomb: A pill in which the dominant active ingredient is not MDMA (often ingredients include speed, 2cb, DXM, Ketamine, or any other mystery combination).
Pre(Post)-Loading: Taking vitamins/supplements to prepare one's body for (help repair from) consumption of chemicals.
Comeup: (oh

yeah!) The onset of consumed chemicals.
Comedown: (oh

no!) Hangover or side-effects resulting from chemical usage which persist after the desired effect is gone.
Drop/Munch: Consuming chemicals orally.
Snort/Bump/Rail(?): Consuming chemicals nasally.
Plug/Shaft/Shelve(?): Consuming chemicals rectally.
Tester: Kit based on Marquis reagent used to qualitatively test for certain families of chemicals in a pill.
Flipping: Consumption of other chemicals in addition to ecstacy; synergy of chemicals. (eg. Candy-flipping: E+LSD, Hippy-flipping: E+Mushrooms)
Peak: The apex of chemical effects.
Roll: Being on e (US orig), often used to describe the post-peak effects of ecstacy (ie. Comeup, Peak, Roll, Comedown).
Steroid-head/Coke-freak/Musclehead: Often used to describe aggressively intense 'ravers' who display hugely muscled, perspiration drenched torsos to the general populace at raves. "A rave is like another workout! GNNNH"

Kandykid: Often used to describe energetic and youthful spirited ravers who favour brightly coloured clothing/accessories. They seem to be able to recapture from their youth an uninhibited (but not naive?) sense of fun and freedom.

doof (noun): A rave.
doof (verb): To go to a rave. To dance.
bush doof: A rave in the bush.
poof doof: E.g. Winterdayze!
cheese: commercial "uplifting" dance music, frequently with vocals.
head-fuck: A strange occurance or an unfeasably bizarre joke, as experienced by someone whose drug-induced state of conciousness prevents comprehension.
scattered: A non-linear thought process experienced by etards coming down. Usually involves achieving nothing for vast periods of time.
rush: waves of sensation felt during peaking.
k-b: (knock-back) to be denied entry to a pretentious night-club that you didn't want to go to anyway.

This is gonna be an excellent thread Hamlet!!

Well for me, an E-experience is like a wave, so to be rolling is like encompassing the whole e-experience, like everyone has said. Thus when it comes to the peak, its like reaching the peak of the wave.... People tend to believe that they are peaking for hours, however i believe (and this is only from experience) that peaks come in waves... the initial peak is the highest of that pill, and then they progressively get smaller - i guess thats how sniffing vicks etc can bring you back "up".
Then, if you take a second pill (or a second half or whatever), you get a new set of waves which sum together with the rest of the waves from the first drop - called superposition of waves... thus the first peak of the second bikkie can add to, say the fourth peak of the first, giving a peak that is bigger, better and stronger than the first peak of the first pill (does any of this make sense? or am i talking scientific shit again???)... anyway, so in short, to me, rolling and peaking indicate the wave like nature of E.
Oh and DROP is another term - to consume a pill (oraly?)

Anyone want to have a shot at outlining what the Music Genre's are... (or for simplicity's sake, provide a link explaining to the average person the differences between) ie. House/ Techno/ Trance/ Breaks/ Commercial/ NRG and all the little sub-genre's in between.
