Hey guys I was wondering if blue lotus has any sigificant effects. How well are the effects of herbs like this documented? Is blue lotus safe in other words? This isn't somthing that's going to be like passion flower right..

Active constituent is probably nuciferene or other freaky quinolines. Probably best left alone unless you know what you're doing, a lot of them have wierd effects on dopamine receptors and quite a few related chemicals are known as emetics (makes you puke).

I don't think there's harmala alkaloids like the passionflowers have.

from my experience it does nothing but placebo...unless added to some other herb blends.... stick to KRATOM !!! yummmmmm%)

I cannot speak for blue lotus it self, but i have smoked "lotus paste" which was made up of three different lotus flowers, hand made by Buddhist monks in tibet. They smoke it while meditating (supposedly with cannabis but it's a closely guarded secret apparently or something like that so they won't admit it) but anyway, it has a high of it's own that's subtle but noticeable. Not as strong as cannabis but it has effects for sure, so i could see blue lotus having effects of it's own probably just even more mild.

I haven't smoked it so I don't have first hand experience.

For what it is worth, I am a member of a message board dedicated to DMT and a few of the users there have discussed blue lotus extract and according to them it has cannabis like effects. These are people I trust and they have no reason to lie..

I'm not sure it is pleasurable, but it is certainly active from what I have read.

So its like a weaker cannabis type high? Very interesting, there's so many psychoactive herbs out there its hard to choose one. Im not looking for anything intense either, so maybe this will work.

One other question does passion flower cause anti anxiety effects?

But back to the original question, blue lotus mechanism of action isn't really known right?

mode note: haha seriously it's LOTUS ;)
