The following is a quick report about my experience with some milder drugs:
Today I obtained some blue lotus flowers and california poppy, among other things. I have had a lot of experience with blue lotus before, both smoking it and drinking tea and combining it with marijuana, alcohol, and other drugs. I really enjoy blue lotus's suble relaxing properties, but it has been several months since I have tried it. At college I am pretty stressed out and don't get much sleep, but take vitamins and do tai chi. We had just had a kind of aggrivating meeting, and I was looking to calm myself down a bit.
I decided that I wanted to try out the herbs, and took a break from doing some homework to roll two joints using a roller, with about half and half blue lotus and california poppy. The blue lotus is the familiar blue and yellow dried flower petals that have a nice smell to them. The california poppy looks more like a whole plant was dried and chopped up, but it rolled pretty well into the joint.
I knew that both the herbs should be pretty subtle in nature, so I wasn't expecting much. I went outside and smoked the two joints while talking to my friend about the ethics of whaling (I am in the middle of trying to write a paper about it for next week). I noticed that after the first joint, I felt relaxed, and my eyes weren't as open as before. I felt a kind of heaviness in my body and a mild headspace. I had no trouble thinking or carrying on a conversation, I just felt nice. After the second joint, the effects were a little more pronounced, and as I walked back into my room, I noticed that lights were a bit brighter and things seem to have some slight movement behind them. I also felt a little happier and a smile was on my face. Music was a little enhanced. It reminded me of being mildly stoned, except without the "my brain feels slow" feeling. I felt just as coordinated when I am sober. All in all, I like the effects as a nice way of relaxing. The smoke flavor wasn't terrible, but wasn't as nice as smoking weed (probably because I love the taste and smell of weed). I look forward to smoking some more of this combo in the future, and perhaps I will mix it with a tea made from the same herbs. Definitely worth my couple of bucks for a subltle relaxant and a sleep aid. I'll probably combine it with weed and alcohol at some point and see how it is with those drugs.
