Blue circle on skin around needle entry

Hello all.

Just a little worried basically, last night I tested out a needle on my arm, I have never ever used needles before in my life.
The needle I used was sterile out the package and there was no substance in the needle what-so-ever, I basically took out a tiny amount of blood and that was that.

Now it's the next day and I notice a blue circle all around where the needle was used, it almost looks like blood, the same color as the blue vains.

I am just a little worried something has gone wrong, can I please have some replies, reassurance I would really appreciate it.

If needed I can take a picture.

Thanks in advance.

Oh and just to add the area doesn't hurt what-so-ever there is no pain when pressure is applied, nothing at all. At first I was thinking it was a bruise, but they are usually sensitive to touch etc.

Either a bruise or a little blood leakage. Did you put pressure on skin when removing needle?

Just an aside-- don't start playing with needles for fun. The road doesn't lead anywhere good

Don't worry about it. It will disappear in less than a week. If it gets worse however (unlikely) seek professional help.

You have nothing to worry about. Just a bruise from the needle breaking the skin. I doubt you put any pressure on the entry point after you pulled it out which would be why it's bruised. Believe me, I've been an IV user of heroin, and pretty much any drug that can be shot up for going on 10 years now. You got nothing to worry about :) put some neosporin and a bandaid on it and it'll be good to go in a day or 2

I was just worrying too much I think it seems to have turned into a bruise, I did not pressure the skin after removing the needle.

Thanks for the advice I won't start playing with needles, I don't really know what came over me I had many vodka tonics that night.

Nearly everyone gets these worries the first few times injecting. It is definitely just a little tissue damage and it will just disappear in a few days. You probably wiggled the needle around a bit with nervous hands or something.
