Anyone know what supplements u can take to improve brain functioning and blood flow in the brain?

lol, I don't think there is a problem with discussing illegal substances here m8

but the problem is that this has nothing to do with e.

Sorry no supplement that I can think of off the top of my head but I just read this.
Exercise induces anti-aging mechanisms. “Exercise builds muscles, burns fat, makes the heart and lungs work more efficiently, lowers the concentration of surgars circulating in the bllod that can gum up the body’s systems, increases the flow of thought-provoking blood to the brain , and makes bones stronger and more dense.

Uh..this is healthy living. Topics here dont have to have anything to do with e.

*confuzed*

Anyway, dont nootropics increase blood flow? I know they work to help improve memory.

A good cardiovascular workout is definately the best brain food for sure.

I think this guy is just asking about nootropics.

Ginko, DMAE, Chloine varients (bitartrate, citrate, Alpha-GPC, etc), L-tyrosine (for mental wellbeing), ALCAR, Hupreziene (sp), Vinpiocotine(sp), the list goes on and on. Try a few in combination for increased mental focus. Ginko is the main one if your actually talking about increasing blood flow specifically.

The 'racetams increase blood flow (in some clinical studies). My personal favourite is oxiracetam. Aniracetam is too speedy, piracetam is good cheap and works also.. but with oxiracetam, I feel the effects the same day I do it.

Viprocepitine is AWESOME for increased blood flow. Fairly cheap too.

Many of the other nootropic drugs help with blood flow.

Good blood flow is an indicator for a healthy brain. Other nootropics can help protect/nurish nerve cells so that the brain will naturally increase blood flow.

As they say, the brain is like a muscle - use it or lose it. If you use it well, you will increase your physiological health of your mind.

Nootropics are great, as are the other supplements. A couple generations from now they'll be going "What the fuck, you mean people DIDN'T take choline supplements? ;)"

MDMA would probably increase blood flow to the brain as well ;) It's a stimulant.

I believe caffiene dilates the brains blood vessels so brain activity is increased along with blood flow.

Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor. It reduces the diameter of blood vesels, not dilates.

Gingo biloba is good, vipocetine + pyritinol are much better

^^^ I'm curioius as to why they add caffeine to the new "Tylenol: Advanced Headache" medicine? Does it enhance the oxygen availability to the brain in another way?

I found it quite strange that "migraine" medicine contains caffeine...

^^ Supposedly the constrictive effect of caffeine is what makes it effective at controlling mild migraine headaches. A common theory about what causes them is that blood vessels in the head become over-dilated or "relaxed". $0.02.

Don't short change yourself, that was worth at least 3 or 4 cents.

LOL!

Piracetam's what you're after. It's fabulous stuff, reduces the effects of a hangover and keeps my brain tip-top. I cycle 2 weeks on, 2 off - just what works for me.

here's what you are looking for!

ROSEMARY!

I'm not kidding... even shakespeare knew "Rosemary is For Rememberance" (that's when what's her name when nuts in Hamlet i think)

It increases blood flow to the brain, a circulatory stim. Its great for all sorts of problems. Reasearch has shown Rosmaricine to be simulant and analgesic, as well as anti-inflammatory, astringent, and toinic properties...

I used to drink rosemary tea every morning instead of coffee, but now i drink yerba mate and coffee (back on the caffeine)

Its a great mild "pick-me-up" and apparently they still burn the oil in some greek universities when studying for exams because it increases blood flow to the brain.

Reference: Personal experience and "The Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants" by Andrew Chevallier, copyright 1996.... its a great reference for herbal medicine, by the way.
