over the past few years a few people have tried to get together and organise bluelight poker tournaments but they've mostly failed due to people being in different time zones and being split across numerous different poker sites.

i had a brainwave that, instead of having a multi-player tournament, we should have a heads-up tournament. this competely solves the geography issue as only two people have to schedule a game and they can do it when it suits them. we can solve the issue of different poker sites by playing for play money - people can sign up for the site we choose but don't have to deposit cash to a site they don't plan to use for real money. if two players going head to head want to play for real money during their match, that's fine too.

if you are interested, please leave a reply in this thread listing your preferred site(s). when we have enough interest, we'll get this going.

^ can you list the sites by name (or at least confirm that you're a member of at least one or two of the sites already mentioned)?

i'm going to take a trawl through past poker threads and send out some pms to participants in those to drum up some interest.

thanks

my plan was to try to get at least 8 or more players and put together a bracket. the alternative you suggest is intriguing - we could put together a league table and have everybody play each other (at least) once.

thoughts?

well, perhaps we can start with a one-off, bracketed tourney and see how that goes. if people are interested, we can then set up a league...

I like the idea of a bracket. You could get 8 or 16 or 32 people into a very nice tourney (I hate to imagine trying to get 32 people to do anything, but its possible).

^ look on it as a way of improving your heads up play :)

i honestly think the chance of getting 18 bluelighters from around the globe at a table at the same time on the same site are low...
