In the making of butane honey oil, how much plant matter and also any water soluble contaminants would be present?

This is obviously greatly effected by the quality of the weed used to make the oil, but lets say primo buds were used and with normal coffee filter at the bottom of the the extraction tube.

Would it be worth while to shoot the butane/thc into a bowl/jar of very cold water placed in an ice bath. This should stop the butane from evaporating(or slow it down immensely, as butanes boiling point is -0.5C)

This should produce 2 layers in the jar, one with the butane and thc, and the other with water and other junk.

The butane/thc could then be siphoned out thru a tube wrapped in cold packs, and then evaporated leaving a much more pure product.

I havent had the chance to try this method since I moved and I no longer have the privicy I need, but any input would be nice, and if anyone has tried this or is willing to try it, id like to hear about your results.

^^ i fail to see how this method would leave any more pure of a product then just learning how to Purge BHO properly(so many people dont know how to properly purge BHO, it isnt hard but it isnt so easy that you dont have to pay attention to what you're doing and also have experience from trial and error, your not gonna learn overnight but dont shy away from it, its not difficult by anymeans)

go to tokecity.com and check out Hashmastakut oil Tek or Ninjas oil tek or Either on of those names proper purge tek.

something like that. search around. you'll find it.

also the place contains all the info you need or would want to know about BHO and Hash in general

It should remove any water soluble contaminents that might have bypassed the coffee filter, if any.
It could potentialy clean the oil, and if it does, maybe lower grade weed products could be used to produce a better final product.

That was the purpose of my first question in my OP.
I don't know if there is any, but if there is I was hoping someone else would know.

see the thing is the Butane will only remove things from the plant matter soluble in butane. So everything in the BHO is soluble in butane. so anything in there that is ALSO water soluble still probably wont be removed because its DEFINATLY soluble in butane. The ONLY way it would do anything is if there is something in the BHO with a low solubility in butane and high solubility in water. bascilly it isnt worth it man.

aite thx man, that makes sense.
so this method would work, but there very little that would be extracted making it not worth it, with all the extra work and potential loss of product.
