Misc Beta blockers and dxm

Drugs.com's interactions checker doesn't list any between the two medications but there is a substantial difference between how DXM works at therapeutic and recreational doses. Hopefully someone with more pharmacological knowledge can give you a more complete answer.

I checked drugs.com because if there was an interaction listed for metoprolol + DXM (at a therapeutic dose) it would certainly be there at a recreational one but please don't take the lack of listed interactions as indicative of it being a safe combination.

Definetly do research on this, interaction checkers don't do shit. I'm not sure but I think DXM is a adrenaline antagonist while Beta-Blockers lower amount of adrenaline so I'm sure something would happen.

I'm thinking of taking an atenolol. My heart's racing and I'm getting tightness in my chest. Not painful, but I'm on DXM, so pain is just a sensation. Will let you know if I experience symptoms of high blood pressure after the beta blockade of adrenaline (the reason you don't want to take a beta blocker for stimulant-induced tachycardia).

Note: I have verapamil, a vasodilator that lowers blood pressure, so if I start getting dizzy and nauseous I will take that to restore homeostasis. The best option right now would be a benzodiazepine, but I have none, therefore this is my only other option. On a side note, verapamil is actually recommended to reverse vasoconstriction of cocaine.

Heart rate is still elevated, heart is simply beating weaker now, so I did some strenuous exercise for a few seconds. Standing on my hands. Heart rate is elevated now but there is a reason for it. Pretty sure it's anxiety-related, because even though it's fast when resting, it doesn't increase much when exercising, tricking my heart (& me) into thinking it's beating fast due to exercise and not the effects of a drug.

I know it's not the same but I'm on propranolol 160mg a day and I take recreational doses of DHC with no adverse effects if that helps.
