What are the best visualizers available?
Everyone knows about the Windows Media Player visualizer but Winamp's visualizer is far superior. Can anyone suggest other ones that I can try?

Itunes is the best Ive used, the xbox one seems exactly like windows media player which is imo terrible compared to itunes.

bah... iTunes has nothing on Winamps Milkdrop plugins. Milkdrop 2 is even more amazing.

Seriously. If you appreciate great visuals, get milkdrop. It's worth the tiny download.

Just realized I had milkdrop 2 on my winamp (which I never use because all my music is in Itunes) ~ amazing! Best Ive seen.

milkdrop is by far the best. i also use the electric sheep screensaver (not exactly a visualizer but just as kick-ass IMO).

electricsheep + psychedelics + nitrous = WOW

When on windows i use milkdrop but mostly im on linux, anyone know any good ones that run on linux?

As far as I remember, a lot of winamp visualisations, including milkdrop can actually run in XMMS on Linux.

After delving into the depths of the interwebs i've discovered ProjectM, basically a port of milkdrop for linux, lets you use milkdrop presets just fine. Unfortunately i dont thing it runs the shaders present in milkdrop 2.0 plugins (yet). It could just be my computer cant handle them though :)

Here is a little guide for installing the latest version from svn, its Ubuntu specific but has some good general tips. You'll need hardware acceleration (Direct rendering) for it to work well.

Hope that helps someone

That guide also put me onto this preset pack, very trippy stuff
