i just moved out here and want to go on a trip in the desert, where's good?

Joshua Tree. There's a national park with campgrounds there. I once took peyote at that spot and it was a fun, beautiful place to trip. The moon was full and I could walk around in the desert without a flashlight. This desert has joshua trees and all kinds of interesting cactus plants, not just tumbleweeds and dirt like in the low desert Mojave around Palm Springs, Lancaster and Vegas areas. Also, Joshua Tree has these cool rock formations made of sandstone that are easy to climb on (not recommended while trippin' though!)
